The people checking us in we're really friendly and offered us a lot of Help, room was clean and tidy, only thing that sucked for us was our rooms view since there was a building right in front blocking the view. The restaurant next door Farallon was amazing ! Highly recommend going there.

This is a great boutique hotel that we have stayed in many times. Even though it doesn't have a bar or restaurant there are many options just steps away. The cable car stops on the corner and Union Square is the heart of the city and great shopping. The staff is friendly and helpful and you really can't go wrong with the Kensington Park Hotel.

I booked this hotel after reviewing all the comments from several websites, including the hotels.com as they were all in the positive side. We went to San Francisco partly to celebrate our 10th Anniversary, and partly since hubby was attending a conference in Moscone. Location of this hotel is great since it is in a prime location that is close to […] Moscone, and my daytime shopping area. Price is reasonable too. Frontdesk service is great. They gave excellent recommendations on local traveling and restaurants. They can even remember our surnames when we returned to the hotel the next day. Gloria is very helpful. Size of room is a bit small, although we paid to upgrade upon check-in to get the room early in the morning, which the size should be larger already. View is great, overlooking the union square and nob hill (we were in a corner room). There may be noises from the cable cars at night though, but bearable. We enjoyed our stay very much! Our first visit and after reading reviews of many other Union Square Hotels, choose this one. It cost a little more than the lowest priced but I believe it was well worth it from my research. The room and bathroom were spacious. We had a king bed. The hotel was quiet and yet just a half block off Union Square.There were no surprise added costs.

Two of your employees, Thai your maintenance man, and Bob your concierge, were outstanding. They were friendly, courteous and hard working. We felt that Bob was not treated fairly by a co worker who berated him in our presence because he was having trouble using the google map on the computer. The room was very comfortable except that the heater was […] not working and this was Dec. 27th and the weather was extremely cold. We were given a space heater that worked great but it would have been nice to have a working heater. The bed was fluffy and comfortable with great sheets and bedspread. The invoice read one amount but my credit card statment had a different amount. Not sure why that happened. I was charged four dollars more than the invoice read. My husband and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary and the Kensington Hotel helped make great memories for us. We loved the historic aspect and the comfortable feel of the hotel. When we visit SanFrancisco again, we will stay at the Kensington.

Enjoyed the convenient location - easy access to all the great spots in downtown SF. There were some great busking musicians in Union Square in the evenings, and a fantastic trumpeter played us to sleep every night (weather was beautiful so we kept the window open). The 2am garbage trucks so many others have commented on were annoying, but that's how […] it works there - no blame to the hotel. We found it very quaint and historic - we got off the elevator at every floor to see the ballroom, Elks lodge facilities, theater, etc. When we got back to the room on our last night our key had been deactivated but the quick trip back to the front desk was not really a big bother. The hotel was in a perfect location, close to Union Square and many restaurants. We enjoyed the intimate and cozy ambience. Great Hotel! Service was fantastic. The rooms were well looked after and designed beautfully. The bed was very comfortable, and a great shower! Amidst the shopping district and walking distance to the finacial district where there are multiple restaurants. The only thing it was hard to find a proper pub!

My husband and I just got back from a stay at the Kensington park and I would highly recommend it. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is very homey. The lobby and the rooms are rather small but I thought it was cozy and comfortable. We also stayed one night at the Hotel Monaco while we were in San Fran and I preferred the Kensington, […] even though the Monaco is considered a more upscale hotel and the staff were great I just loved the Kensington. Great character hotel. Service is great! Staff are nice. Love the complimentary coffee on the upper floor specially when you dont feel like going out in the morning. Great location - just a 1/2 block to Union Square and 3 blocks to Market St. And close to restaurants and transportation. Very helpfulo staff. No parking on site - must give 20 minutes notice, but not as expensive as other hotels. Our room was huge - plenty of closet space, hangers and drawers. No fridge. Complimentary coffee down the hall in the morning. […] Sherry and tea in the lobby in the afternoon. When we stayed, there was constructionin the front, so was a bit hard to finbd. Finally a great night sleep. The bed was superb and my partner and I had the best night sleep that we have had in a long time. The room was a mini suite and we had a view of Union Square and we were a block away from Union Square which was amazing. The best hotel I ever stayed in for the money. As a "Personality Hotel" one of 4 owned in the area, I have to say the staff was very aware of personal service as if they were trained --especially-- in a rotten job market! It didn't matter who it was... room service, maintenance in the stairwell or elevator, the front desk --ALL were superb representatives […] of the hotel --- as if it were employee owned. As said elsewhere... a hidden gem. The have no control over street noise but between early morning garbage trucks and some very odd and visciously noisy automated USPO mail collection and street sweeping it could have been quieter. Yes... GODZILLA was reaking havoc and had invaded the early morning streets of San Francisco. The local population of the adjacent Chinatown district scurried in the total mayhem as parked cars were broadsided and uplifted high into the air and crashing loudly below...close to Chinatown, North Beach, Union Square, Theatre district.
