Chancellor Hotel on Union Square

Malgré les commentaires, taille de la chambre raisonnable et propre. Notre chambre donnait sur la rue donc un peu bruyante mais tout à fait supportable. Emplacement parfait pour la cable car, union square, magasins...Nous recommandons cet hotel.

En plein centre de SF, pas besoin de voiture, tous les transports en commun sont à proximité.Personnel agréable, chambre propre et calme. Même si le petit déjeuner n'est pas compris : café et thé + cookies à volonté jusqu'a midi. Vraiment très bien !

Chambre originale avec tout le confort possible Personnel agréable. café, cookies, pommes en libre service à la réception. parking pour la voiture (indispensable à SF) à 150 metres de l'hotel. Situation idéale à 1 min à pieds de l'Union square. Personnel sympa & accueillant (comme partout d'ailleurs aux USA lors de notre séjour d'1 mois !). Avons pris la formule avec parking - très appréciable pour SF ! le pking à 5 min à pieds de l'hôtel, en plus on peut se garrer devant l'hôtel pour décharger les valises, monter dans la chambre, le valet […] veille à votre auto, et ensuite aller la garrer au pking. Une très belle chambre, cosy et jolie. Vue sur le mur au 2ème étage, je pense que c'est là que se " cachait l'offre promotionnelle" ... mais no soucy ! vue que ce n'était pas côté rue avec le cable car, nous avons dormi au calme ! La propreté de la chambre et sdb irréprochable (la sdb est un peu petite - mais c'est vraiment pour trouver quoi critiquer !) Bons produits pour le bain & la douche. Bonne literie, couette douillette. N'avons pas pris la formule avec le petit déj, mais tout de même vous avez le café/thé au bar et des cookies délicieux gratuit pour le petit déj. Idéalement situé à downtown au pied de la ligne du cable car, l'hôtel offre de très belles prestations à un prix incroyable. Les chambres sont peut-être un peu petites, mais très confortables.

Hotel was prime location in union square. Did all the things needed to do in SF. Space in bathroom and hallways were very small. Room was just a place to sleep. SF is a fabulous city.

Chancellor - simple, easy, nice, convenient, right price, nice staff, good beds, pillow options, restaurant/bar onsite. Unless you are thinking of paying almost twice the price, you can not beat it for the quality and location.

this hotel is in union square - the equivalent of NY's Time Square so to get a hotel in this location there will be a premium on the room rate. The Chancellor has great rates and the rooms are clean. The common areas of the hotel (lobby, bar, hallways, elevators) are dated and worn. The rooms are clean and adequate. We loved this hotel! Initially we were put in room 205 which was horrendous...dark, dingy, like being in a basement apartment. We called the front desk and they were moved to a beautiful room on the 8th floor. Outstanding room, (and although small) it was filled with natural light. Location was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I stayed at the Chancellor at the beginning and the end of my two week vacation. The Chancellor was walking distance from the BART, across from Union Square and along the Cable Car line. The Chancellor is four short blocks from the Bart. It is across from Union Square. the cable car is on the same street so it's scenic. There are many restaurants close by. The room was clean. As an older Euro-style hotel, we did not expect the room to be very big. Yet, it was much larger than we expected and very comfortable. This hotel is the bargain of Union Square, if not all of San Francisco. A very clean interior with a friendly staff, w will return without hesitation. Pay for the Parking Package, it's well worth it.

I love the location of the hotel, it is in the heart of Union Square but far enough from the crowds. It takes about 5-7 mins to walk from Powell BART station to the hotel. There's also a 24-hr Walgreens and Starbucks on each corner on Sutter st.. It's a great hotel especially for first timers like myself, everything is within walking distance. The room we got was a standard Queen bed size, it has a walk-in closet large enough for 2 open suitcases. Bed and pillows were very comfortable, bathroom was very clean. Very good location, a street across the Union Square. I emailed to the hotel asking for place my luggage for a few days before check-in since I had schedule to go to Yosemite with light luggage. I received quick response from them. Room is good although it is a little bit small. There are complimentary water/tea/coffee at the lobby.

This hotel was right off of Union Square, walking distance to all of the downtown shopping, dinning and attractions. It was a nice, eclectic little spot. Our room was very clean, the staff friendly. Great alternative to staying in one of the high priced mega chain hotels.

The hotel room was clean and tidy though small and the building being quite old. I cannot complain. However the walls were extremely thin and we had some noisy neighbours for one of our nights but this resolved by the reception desk once a complain was made.

We were in town for new years and wanted some place centrally located to bart, muni, shopping and restaurants. We lived in SF so we know our way around and I figured this was as good as it was going to get. The hotel and our room were clean and staff was pleasant. I would stay here again and have no issues, but for those of you who wake up easily from loud exterior noises this is not a good choice. Lovely clean hotel with great service. Although rooms are quite small and the noise from the street kept us awake during our stay. We would recommend this place if you want to be near all the shops and restaurants as plenty to look at in the area, but can be quite busy at night with rubbish trucks and people out on the street.

The best thing about this hotel is definitely the location, right in the middle of everything, although it is close to the "tenderloin" district which can be dangerous at night so you need to be aware of exactly where that is in relation to the hotel. The hotel worked well for us because of its location near union square and the BART system. We arrived late and checked out the next morning. First off if you're new to San Fransisco like i was then pay the extra money for the valet parking. It's only an extra $8 on top off your parking for the night and it will definitely save you a headache trying to park yourself. I didn't try the continental breakfast so I have no comment on that, but the breakfast in the restaurant in the Hotel was superb and decently priced as well.
