Hôtel de standing, très calme. Climatisation bruyante mais indispensable en été sur Manhattan. Quartier très sûr, de jour comme de nuit. Central park a quelques minutes a pied.

Très bon hotel que je recommande. Station de métro à proximité et quartier un peu plus calme que le centre. Le personnel ne parlait pas français contrairement à ce qui est dans l'annonce mais était très aimable (offres promo, cartes de la ville et du métro à dispo). Chambre agréable, le lit king size est une merveille !!! La salle de bain n'est pas […] de première fraicheur mais propre et de taille correcte. j'ai été déçu de cet hotel il ne mérite pas ses 3étoiles et la chambre ne correspondait pas du tout à ce qui était mentonné. la chambre était toute petite ainsi que le lit alors que lorsque nous avons réservé il était spécifié très grand lit, il y avait des travaux donc ça sentait la peinture et on ne pouvait pas ouvrir les fenêtres on n'a dû payer […] un supplément pour avoir une chambre plus grande. L'hôtel est plutôt bien situé sur central park west et proche du métro (79e rue). Il est en rénovation mais cela ne nous a pas gêné lors de notre séjour. Le confort de la chambre est bien mais nous étions au 9e étage et nous ne disposions pas de lavabo et de coffre. Seul un ascenseur sur deux fonctionne ce qui occasionne un peu d'embouteillage !!

Un beau bâti 1900 avec chambres agréables. Panne ascenceur Pendant notre séjour mais vite réglée. Petit dej chez big nick's juste à côté incontournable !! Dommage que la SdB soit partagée avec 2 autres chambres pour ce tarif... Biensurca n'est le cas que pour qques chambres ! L'acceuil et super et les conseils appréciables.

L'hôtel est remarquablement bien situé. Très bon quartier près du parc et de l'Hudson River Walk, sur Brodway ... on peut aller très facilement (et en toute sécurité) partout où l'on veut. L'hôtel en lui-même est charmant, quoique un peu exigu ... et les ascenseurs sont ridicules (petits, lents, et ne marchent que la moitié du temps) ... Nous n'avons […] pas pris de chambre avec supplément, et nous avons eu une chambre propre et au calme, mais très très petite, et avec vue sur un mur ... Le personnel était très bien, mais on ne leur a pas demandé grand-chose. This is a nice hotel on the upper West side convenient to the Beacon theater museums, Central Park, etc. it is not midtown so restaurants are a few blocks away instead of being packed together, however there are some very good restaurants at all price ranges in the area. As for The hotel, while the rooms are typically New York small they are comfortable […] and modern. The decor is nice and being updated. The only major problem is that any noise in the hallway or a neighboring rooms is often heard, And you can clearly hear into rooms as you pass them in the narrow hallways. Staff is very friendly and helpful and there are numerous coffee shops etc. in the area. I was disappointed that there was no doorman to hail a cab on Sunday morning. Lisez la suite

Although hotel is undergoing lobby renovations to expand and improve services, everything else was great! Nicely decorated room, pleasant and helpful staff, two blocks from the subway, lots of restaurants within walking distance, a great market on the corner, on-street parking on the same block (we were lucky). The beds were so comfortable we decided to replace our mattress at home when we got back, best sleep ever. The room was quaint. The service was excellent! We asked to be moved to a different room twice for different reasons and they were happy to accommodate. The lobby was being renovated during our 4 nights stay but we didn't mind since they were careful […] not to get in the way and there wasn't any noise. Two of us stayed in a suite with a full bed. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Good use of space. One complaint was the heat, which was too high and couldn't be controlled.

The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Yes the room was small, but the bathroom was a very good size, there was a fridge in the room (very useful when you're in NYC for Restaurant Week), and at the end of the day, we didn't spend much time in the room. And, of course, the location is unbeatable: 2 blocks from the train, a few blocks from […] Central Park and the Natural History Museum,and a block away from Starbucks. For breakfast, there is a great 24-hour bakery/deli across the street from the hotel. As for the construction that was going on, the noise did not start until some time after 9am and by then we were out and about. Will definitely be returning to the hotel in the future. The hotel is under construction but the staff is nice and the hotel is clean. The only issue we had was the pergo floors had sticky footprints that I cleaned myself and the tile in the bathrooms were dark green and dirty. The grout also had a little mold but dark tile & dark grout in a low lit bathroom may not have been the best choice. Lastly, there […] was a cold air draft coming through the taped up air conditioner and there was no thermostat. This was my 4th or 5th stay at Hotel Belleclaire. The staff is friendly and helpful and the location is great. The hotel has been undergoing some renovations during the past couple of years and I'm happy to report that the windows were all properly sealed and both elevators were in fine working order. My only negative comment is that while it is pretty quiet in the rooms regarding street noise and adjacent rooms, sound from the hallway is very loud in the rooms. I think it is a quirk of the building. Lots of 24-hour food options nearby and quick access to the Subway line to get anywhere you need to go. The beds are very comfortable and the room, large, for New York, and everything was very clean. This is our top choice for location, value, and neighborhood when staying on the Upper West Side. The good: - located on Manhattan (far from being the ideal location, though) - shops and restaurants within walking distance. You can even consider walking to the main attractions (Rockfeller, Empire State, Times Square (allow 30min walk), Bryant Park, etc...) - subway station nearby - rooms are small but clean The not so good: - the hotel corridors […] and lobby look like they've seen better days (a long time ago) - cracks in the washbasin's surface and various imperfections of that caliber that can easily be dismissed, but makes the 4* claim preposterous The altogether bad: - TV reception so bad you could not consider watching TV, unless you fancied a headache. It was -10C outside, so admittedly we stayed indoors a bit longer than we would normally do - hence why we could not help noticing the TV issue. - First thing we had to do on her first night was to use virtually all the towels from the bathroom to stop the draught from the air-conditioning unit (one of those afixed directly to the window) and from the poor seal from the midsection of the second window. Although the air-con unit was contained in a wooden cabinet, there was a 10cm gap at the bottom of the enclosure. Did I mention it was -10C outside? We could see the same thing on the nearby rooms' windows, so we did not bother asking for another room. So: consider twice before booking this hotel in the middle of winter. All in all, it was OK for the price, but if you are looking for a REAL 4*, check out the Pearl, near Times Square. Lisez la suite

My girlfriend and I took our first trip to NYC over the Christmas holidays and the Hotel Belleclaire made our stay incredibly comfortable. It's a quaint little hotel that mixes old-style charm with modern-day conveniences. The narrow hallways are really cool and beautifully decorated. The room itself was clean and spacious with a gorgeous bathroom. […] It's located in a calm neighbourhood on the Upper West Side and it was a great place to come back to and relax after a long day of sight seeing. If you want to experience New York the way New Yorkers experience it, this is the place. It's in Jerry Seinfeld's neighborhood--a few block north of Fairway Market and a few blocks south of Zabar's. The staff is professional friendly and very accommodating. This was a great hotel very close to central park and the Museum of Natural History. It was a little tight through the hallways, but the room was very spacious and the bed was great! We stayed in the hotel Belleclaire just before Christmas. Our room was on the third floor facing the corner of Broadway. The location is excellent with some great bars and restaurants nearby and it is close to the subway. Amsterdam Diner is fab for breakfast. Central Park and Natural History Museum are a couple of blocks away. Negatives were the noisy […] radiator and the street noise was intrusive. The hotel room itself was lovely... the hallways were outdated and rundown looking but the room totally made up for it! The staff was all very friendly. One of their rooms with a king size bed was open and they upgraded us to it for free!

Booked a standard room, which was clean, bed comfortable, but lacking in space - place to open one suitcase only, nowhere to hang coats (hangers and hooks were on inside bathroom door, in bathroom, which meant that's where your clothes would be stored) - no closet, no drawers. Biggest problem, though, was uncontrollable heat in the room. We turned off […] the radiator, and the man they sent from the front desk told us to open the window, which we did, wide, but there was no air exchange. The heat was radiating from pipes within the walls. Management refused to move us, saying hotel was full. Suffice it to say, it was a very uncomfortable night. Great hotel at a great price. Larger room then most I've stayed in when traveling to the city. Great location close to shops, resturants, Museum of Natural History, Central Park. Only complaint is the construction going on across the street but if you get a room on the other side of the hotel it probably won't be so bad.
