Principale ville de la Côte d'Azur, Nice est célèbre pour ses magasins de luxe et sa culture avant-gardiste. La Promenade des Anglais bordée de palmiers suit les plages de galets de la Baie des Anges, le long d'hôtels huppés et d'un casino. La situation de l'hôtel est exceptionnel, l'accueil était agréable et professionnel, toutefois il et très dommage de retrouver des coton-tiges usagés dans les coins de la salle de bains, la moquette n'était pas très bien aspirée, la fenêtre voilée, l'accroche de la manivelle cassée. Certes le prix proposé était très intéressant et la chambre parfaite (neuve), mais l'hôtel est vieillot (et en chantier) et ils auraient dû commencer les travaux par les communs : hall d'accueil, escalier, couloir, bar et balcons. Cet hôtel devrait-être déclassé provisoirement de 4 en 3 étoiles. Par ailleurs le petit déjeune buffet à 22 € et le petit […] déj express à 9 € sont hors de propos, complètement abusif. Palace à l'ancienne... idéalement situé sur la promenade des anglais, à deux pas du vieux Nice et de la Place Massena. Les chambres ont été refaites, mais les parties communes de l'hotel sont restées "dans leur jus" : c'est un voyage vers "l'entre deux guerres". Hotel correct pour un 4 étoiles sans plus. Bonne literie, chambre silencieuse. Par contre je trouve scandaleux que le wifi soit payant. La salle de bain est spacieuse mais manque totalement d'étagères permettant d'entreposer nos éléments de toilette. Situation idéale sur promenade des Anglais, près des quartiers restaurants, magasins et le vieux Nice. l'entrée avec la réception pourrait être rénovée car fait vieillot et ne donne pas l'aspect d'un 4 * La chambre 231 à l'arrière est très calme, spacieuse, ainsi que la salle de bain(idéal pour personnes en chaise roulante) mais dans la sdb manque de […] crochets pour pendre serviettes ou peignoir etc; ni porte manteau ou crochets dans la chambre d'ailleurs!dommage pas de pommeau douche fixe dans la baignoire ni rideau ou paroi. Pas très pratique. Pas de nettoyage régulier au sol (ni aspirateur ni à l'eau dans la sdb.) Personnel très aimable et serviable, sauf le soir sur la terrase le garçon assez hyperkinétique et nerveux et pas très acceuillant; mais dans l'ensemble très satisfaite et prête à retourner. "Expected more"
I was expecting a charming old hotel with modern amenities. The gentleman who greeted us upon arrival was lovely, but our room was not. The building is charming and the location is fine, however, the exterior and interior are dingy and not as well maintained as neighboring properties. Our room was dark, carpet looked dirty and room lacked any color […] and charm. The room was facing the sea with a nice view, but noisy as others have noted. The safe was too small to hold a laptop. We had to go to a room on another floor to iron our clothes which was inconvenient. The sitting rooms downstairs are dark and not as inviting as other hotels we stayed at during our trip. "Nice hotel in good location"
Nice traditional hotel in a very good location right on the sea front and just a 10 minutes pleasant stroll from the old town. Very handy for the airport bus which has a stop just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. The bedroom was contemporay in style and of a good standard. The TV offered all the BBC and ITV channels which was a bonus. The restaurant […] is closed in winter months so breakfast is taken in an area at the back of the lobby which was although pleasant enough, is quite dark and has no view of the sea at the front of the hotel. They offer an express breaskfast at 9 euros which is qood if you want a light or quick breakfast otherwise it is a buffet breakfast at 20 euros. Basically, the hotel is a good place to lay your head at night. Major complaint is that the elevator was out of commission for an entire week, forcing us to climb 5 flights of stairs 2-3 times a day. There was an unpleasant odor in the dining room just off the lobby that never went away. The room was adequate but small. A very Good hotel that has a terrific location for Nice. For the price it was a very good deal. Room was clean, large and bright. The bathroom was as big as the bedroom. "Disappointing stay at Westminister Hotel"
I went to nice with my wife and booked the westminister hotel.The wrong room was booked for me upon arrival. I had booked a double room with one big bed and got twin beds. The staff then tried to give me a "single" small room (cheaper room if booked) instead which i refused until i got the room I booked. It was around midnight. The first night i had […] 2 nice feather pillows. second night, for some reason, housekeeping took 1 of the pillows to replace it with a 5 cm thick dreadfull pillows. Went down to reception and complained. Staff sent security to look for a pillow in a dirty store where he could locate only old and dirty pillows. He told me it wasnt his job and he is sorry he could not help. Second morning i complained at the reception and they guarntied me they would do something about it. Came back that night to find that they stuffed 2 of the same pillow kind in one pillow case and for both pillows. Went down to reception to complain. They again sent the same security person and then rudely replied that they had no pillows. II gave up afterwards but fortunetly they replaced the pillows the 4th night on their own. This hotel is in a prime location on the Promenade des Anglaises. There is a large bar area in front of the hotel for drinks at night. We didnt book breakfast but the beach restaurant opposite does a 9 euro basic petit dejener and the cafe next door has a larger less expensive choice. Our room was a classic city view, it had air conditioning and ample […] room with separate bathroom and WC. The reception staff are English speaking, polite and helpful. The hotel has a private beach advertised, it would be better to advise travellers that this does have a cost of 22 euros per day each person. The package of very comfortable sun lounger, parasol and towel seems well worth it when compared to sitting on the pebble beach. Yes the hotel is well situated and the room is nice however the building could use some freshening up. The reception desk for example is old and dated as is the lobby. The private beach is not free to hotel guest and while there is a discount for the full package you can do better by simply bringing a hotel towel and rent a lounge chair yourself. We […] arrived at 2:00 and was told that we would have to wait 1/2 hour for our room. It was only until we pushed the issue that they offered a similar room on a different floor. If you want to iron your clothes you have to go to the ironing room on the 2nd floor. The strip on the promenade is expensive so from that respect you pay for the location. Lastly, this hotel is rated a 4 star unsure how the rating works in France so don't expect a workout room or any extras. Parking is next door at a public parking. Expect to pay 20 euro a day. "Great hotel on Mediterranean"
This hotel was on the Promenade and we had a 5th floor sea view room. It was superb! The room was large and so was the bathroom. Everything was updated and extremely comfortable. The hotel was very quiet. We never heard anything. Opening the doors to our small balcony and seeing the Mediterranian sunrise and sunset everyday was picture perfect. A bus […] stop was located 1/2 block from the hotel with easy access to the airport and other coastal cities. We were a 15 minute walk to the train station.
