No hassle overnight stay
Needed an overnight local place to drop off my partner the next morning at CBX. Hillcrest seemed ideal for both us.

Good location, not good condition
Furniture was incredibly soiled. Did not feel comfortable sitting on it without a towel. Door lock kept malfunctioning, had to hold to door itself at certain angle to get it to close. The bathroom door didn’t close all the way, dragged on the floor.

Cute Boutique Hotel
Cute little boutique hotel in Hillcrest neighborhood. Area appeared safe and had no issues during stay. Great security measures in place in a gated building. Rooms were small but adequate for their purpose. Only complaint was the small ackward bathroom set up in the units i stayed in. Would definitely consider this property again with a future stay in San Diego.

This loft was awesome, exactly what we needed for us and our friends (two couples). Two separate rooms/bathrooms made it private but there’s a shared space to chill with your friends. It was clean, modern and inviting. Would love to stay again!

Stay somewhere else.
We decided not to stay there. Homeless people right out the front door. No carpet in the room. $25.00 parking in a poorly lit lot.

Stay Away
Do not recommend this facility. The area is littered with trash, homeless people and vagrant types. The entrance area is filthy as well. I booked a “Premier Studio with CityView” the room they gave me was a split studio with no city view. The check in staff were rude and are now refusing to refund me a portion of the room cost. The room I was in was dirty, lamps didn't work and lock on door did not function as advertised. I was on a very tight family schedule and had little time until I came back to Nevada to address the issues. I feel a bait and switch occurred and will never stay or recommend this “hotel”

Loved the room and building, looks can be decieving. The room looked like a updted studio and eco friendly bathroom, toilet was a little new cause i had to figure out how to turn off the sink, which it turns off automatically. Area is good walking distance to a lot of things on Hillcrest. Only thing was the bums fighting at night and hanging round the 7/11 on the corner, but it was a great stay nonetheless.

Hotel was bare bones. They included cheap shampoo and a thin bar soap. Had to go buy toiletries. There’s no separate restroom only a door that turns the toilet and shower into a cubicle. There are no room keys it’s run by code similar to Saunder hotels. No daily housekeeping either. My room was also dirty. Likely wouldn’t repeat but convenient location.

Check staff provided a friendly and very helpful service. There were some problems not of their making and they dealt with them in a very professional and caring manner. Great little spot in an interesting area. Lots of eating options close by.

The loft style room was super fun. Very secure as you needed multiple codes to get in. Lots of good restaurants in walking distance and other attractions within a 20 minute drive.

I really don’t want to say anything good because this was a good find. A little hidden gem. The room was clean and had a little extra with a fridge/freezer and a microwave. The location was perfect for what I was looking for. Easy walk to the local gay bars. Restaurants all walking distance. I definitely will be staying again.

The cafe downstairs is lovely, the room can use a little TLC but the space and view was fantastic

Loved staying here! EXCELLENT views from front and bed loft windows. Nice super-comfortable bed. I could live in it! The door in/out of my room was stuck (too heavy for the hinges and no wheels on bottom) so I had to push it to open or close. Otherwise nice quality room with just the right amount of stuff to make it comfortable. Things I would change 1. Make clear description of the codes, ie, instead of “door/gate code,” it could be “back door & front gate code.” Carrying luggage, bags, laptop with so many doors and multiple codes please make it easier for us to understand it quickly and not have to put everything down to reinterpret the messages. Thanks. 2) Parking is terrible so at least make it a little easier for us. If you can’t offer free parking, then help us to where we can park & pay, as in where is the alleyway to the building? (I was driving at night and couldn’t find the front entrance. That’s something you should be concerned about.) Also, we should know in advance that the park & pay is going to be $25 a day and that it includes spaces in the parking garage, as well as those in the alleyway outside the garage. Major disappointment there. Parking in the residential area 3 blocks away is not a good option for travelers with luggage.
