Sonder - Liberty Place

The apartment is in a great location for everything in center city - very walkable area. If you go in spring or fall be aware of when the building cuts off air or heat. This made a beautifully warm late fall day unbearably hot in the apt. Otherwise , all was great.

Great location and lovely place It has everything you will need.

I would never stay at another Sonder property again! Hotels.com was also not very helpful in resolving situation(s).

Im Sure All Sonders Are Different. I stayed at the 16th & Chestnut one in Center City, Philadelphia. The Pros: Location! (Unbeatable). Your own private apartment. (In these times of Covid-19, having an actual kitchen and a washer & dryer was indispensable). The Cons: The building is old! (Every time I showered the tub filled with water and I needed a plunger to empty it). The sensor-locks! (I sat on the floor for 3.5 house because my door lock had a dead battery. Finally, Sonder offered my an upgrade for the inconvenience. The lock worked fine, but they are finicky ... sometimes it would take several attempts to get in). AND speaking of the upgrade, Sonder asked me to return to the original apartment after they'd fixed its keypad claiming my upgrade wasn't clean. I'd already unpacked everything and was exhausted after waiting 9 hours to check in ... they have no luggage storage; that's an extra cost and a mile away ... I refused to move after I'd unpacked. I was promised some kind of coupon or gift certificate or the like for these inconveniences, but I've yet to receive them. Not Sonder's fault: its guests! Not one of them wore masks and the elevator in the building is small. I refused to let them in with me. Also, one family chose to let their children run up and down the halls to play since they couldn't go outside and their screaming was impossible to deal with. Prognosis: There is a lot of promise here, but this property isn't there yet.

There was an issue with getting in contact with customers service to get a new access code because the first one I got wasn’t working. After finally reaching someone i was able to get inside my room and everything from that point was great! This would be my second time staying at this location.

It was quiet and a short walk to places. Attentive hosts and even let me have an early check in.

Wasn’t sure about the no-front desk situation, but all of my concerns were answered via app and online interactions, which Sonder has made very simple to use. The unit itself was clean, comfortable, and had great amenities. You cannot beat the location here - it is literally in the middle of the city. I can see parking being an issue, but I didn’t have a vehicle. I would definitely stay again!

Absolutely gorgeous apartment. Very clean and spacious. I booked same day for a conference and have never have used a hotel that was not a hotel. No front desk or not in a hotel, so I was a little wary. Although now, I only want to use this type of lodging. I had a question and when I called Sonder, they were incredibly helpful and followed up very quickly. The apartment I stayed in was beautiful. 2 large bedrooms for a city and well appointed kitchen. There was a washer / dryer. The building is quiet and clean. You do hear city noise, but nothing over the top that a sound machine doesn’t drown out. I highly recommend staying at this property. I downloaded the Sonder app and hope to stay with them at other properties when I travel. I don’t normally write reviews, but I was so impressed by this place that I felt I had to do so. For anyone like me who is wary of staying in a non traditional hotel, do it!! You will be very pleasantly surprised!

Sonder was to send information about check in three days prior to arrival. Nothing from them. I called Hotels.com to inquire. They in turn called Sonder who only sent me a verification code. Since I got no other info I assumed this was all I needed to get entry. 2 days later upon arrival I could not access the building entryway with that code I had received from Sonder. I called Sonder and for about an hour I got response from a very helpful person to finally give me the code for the door and room. It should not have been this inconvenient to get the room. She had to go back and forth to her manager several times before they were finally able to send me the proper email for me to get signed in, despite me having the room reserved and paid for through Hotels.com. They almost cancelled me out while I was standing outside the doors for an hour because they could not send me the proper email to get me the room door codes. Finally it worked out and once in the room it was spacious and very good and the door codes worked well. But no cable in the room despite the room description saying a TV was available....so no TV to watch. All this trouble with the code email not being sent 3 days before my arrival from Sonder has caused me to use caution when using their properties through Hotels com. Sorry to do that because the property was very convenient. Despite Sonder saying they have phone contact 24/7 having no one on the property for assistance when needed is a definite drawback.

Room was nice in general, but the building was being renovated which is never ideal when on holiday, but it’s good to see it being updated. I’m never keen on the app key method for accessing a building, I didn’t realise there wouldn’t be a reception area as such. I probably wouldn’t of booked this place if I had known. the main door on the street was not secure, it seemed to not close, it was worrying to think anyone could walk in off the street. Numerous guests weren’t happy about this whilst we were waiting in the waiting lobby area. There was no TV aerial so we couldn’t watch anything
