Holiday Inn Express Clearwater East - Icot Center, an IHG Hotel

My husband and I wanted a weekend away somewhere close to the beach and the city without paying an arm and a leg. I searched on Hotels.com and after reading many reviews and ratings we decided this Holiday Inn Express was our best bet. The location is easy to find, centrally located to many activities and had a few restaurants within walking distance. Upon arriving we noted that the grounds and parking area was clean and presentable and check in was fast and easy. Our room on the second floor was neat and clean and the bathroom was fully stocked with everything placed neatly. The breakfast time frame is 6-9 so we didn't feel rushed to wake up and go down which is great because when on vacation you want to sleep in a little. The server was nice and accommodating and we were satisfied with our choices. The front desk staff were pleasant and accommodating and I would definitely stay here again. One small flaw to note is that the cable/satellite was very sketchy and it made watching any shows impossible as the sound and screen constantly broke up. Not a huge deal to us just annoying.

Absolutely disgusting room. Worst hotel and holiday inn I've ever stayed at. The entire room smelt horrible and the bedding was even worse. Had to kill a roach in the bathroom and my ear is still irritated by whatever horrid crud was on the pillow I attempted to sleep on. Was so bad my girl friend and I opted to sleep in the car instead and leave as soon as possible. They were unable to move us to a different room because they claimed to be overbooked. It was very clear the place was not properly cleaned and even more so to a level that covid demands.

The hotel was fine. Nothing special at all, but nothing horrible. The pool water is not heated, so it's cold anytime not in late spring to early fall. No hot tub. The check-in was easy, the front desk and cleaning staff were very helpful and responsive. The TV had no guide to see what the channels were, which is a total first world problem. The breakfast was hot and had two egg omelette options that were obviously warmed up in the microwave. There were sausage patties and links, cinnamon buns, fruit, yogurt, and generic cereal options. Because of COVID, you had to just tell the attendant what you wanted and they would get it for you. The woman who was getting the food seemed pretty annoyed at even the slightest request. Overall, the stay was nothing spectacular. The beds were nice. I would probably not stay here again.

This would have been max stars had there not been a huge hair ball in the shower. The front desk was great, very friendly. The breakfast attendant was ok, he seemed very rushed. If jn the area i would chooses this hotel again.

Arrived to check in had to wait a while. They weren’t sure if room was ready. Was told you can check in as early as 3 and i was there at 5. They sent me to a room and it was dirty. Like sheets off bed and previous guests garbage etc. Came back down and the girl said can’t we just upgrade her and the manager was more concerned with house keeping and yelling at them why they hadn’t completed their job. Never apologized to me or even spoke with me directly. Not very good customer service skills for management. They did upgrade and that was a surprise. Room was nice and bed comfy. I probably wouldn’t choose this location again, as they seemed more inconvenienced by me, than glad to be having happy paying customers.

Great stay.

This hotel needs gutted or torn down. Didn't feel comfortable, rooms were gross, hotel was dirty floor, doors wall. Beds were clean, everything else was just not ok it's a Motel 6 at best.

The only thing is, I would have liked a small fridge we had water and leftovers with nowhere to put them.

The room had a couple minor issues, but the staff was perhaps the most responsive to correct them I have ever seen. I would definitely recommend!
