Great stay. Would caution about reserving the Grand Suite. The entry hall is directly behind the bed. Expect creaky floor and elevator noise into the night. Beautiful suite! Comfortable bed.Great stay!
Came up for a Bridal Shoot for my daughter and I to stay here and get ready. Ordered Mimosa's for two that was supposed to be beautifully set up for $55; instead the ingredients stuck in the fridge (ok fine) with no chiller left in the room and I was charged $193 after I checked out ofcourse. I tried calling, emailing and customer support and nothing. This is unacceptable.
This was an adorable and charming hotel. You felt transported as you entered and were greeted with the smell of wood and leather, so pleasant. The room was equally charming with the four poster bed cute fridge and beautiful wood floors, which did creak when you walked on them. The shared porch was a nice touch. Easy access to the river. Which is so fun at night.
Very disappointed in this hotel. Was expecting a nice hotel based on ratings but this is a small very old building that used to be (according to the front desk) an apartment building. By the looks it is probably over a hundred years old with old creaky wooden floors, old unmatched furnishings, a bed whose mattresses were so high we had to literally carry a chair from the small living room and place it beside the bed for my wife to climb up on it. Ridiculous! Bathroom was small with old free-standing sink with no place to put toiletries except on the floor.
To add to it all when entering this property there is only a one lane driveway that goes past a small porte-cochere where a set of concrete stairs lead to an unmarked side entrance. Since the drive is only one lane wide cars back up in both directions waiting to try to get through while we unloaded and hauled our luggage up the stairs. Again, ridiculous set up. Then when checking in we inquired about the hotel restaurant that was advertised and learned that it was in the back of the building but didn't open until Wednesday (this was a Monday). Then when asked where to park we were directed to a small lot next to the hotel which was obviously part of the property. Upon checking out we discovered that we were charged $25 to use their lot without being disclosed.
My recommendation is to not waste your time and money on this old building that has nothing good to offer.
We were disappointed that the bar and restaurant were closed again so no dining options, our room did not offer a desk and chair or any seating options other than the bed, the tv was very small and the floors were sticky.
