We booked on Hotels.com and then phoned up to check room allocation, as my wife has a disability
We were assured room allocated would be changed as the original room did not have lift access
On arrival, this change had not been made.
We were given a room which was supposed to be a better CLUB room but the room and bed was much smaller than in the pictures . Also bed was uncomfortable and room needed a deep clean.
Breakfast was ok but the choice was limited, and there was no fresh fruit
Advertises that it has parking, which it has ...but this is limited and during a busy weekends you have to leave your keys as cars are blocked in
We paid over ÂŁ150 a night and my wife was really disappointed as this was a special weekend treat and we did not think we received value for money
Hotel was clean throughout. Was able to check in early and park no problem. Room was a good size and had everything we needed. Buffet breakfast was good. Gym was a decent size. Swimming pool looked great although didnt get time to use it.
loved the pool area nice and peaceful.only grumble was my room was too hot. windows did not open wide enough, but was given a fan to help. you cannot win with uk weather
Typical English sea-side hotel formed from the conversion and extension of a pair of semi-detached houses which results in small rooms and a messy layout with narrow passageways. The rooms are dated, there was no hot water during the morning of my last day. The breakfast was of good quality. Car parking is limited so arrive early.
Our first impression, when we walked through the door never changed throughout our stay. The hotel reception area is bright, clean and has lovely decor, lots of seating areas, to relax and enjoy a drink, and friendly staff who welcomed us on arrival. We were booked in for 2 nights over the May bank holiday weekend and had booked a show at the Lowther Pavilion for one of the nights. The other evening we stayed in the hotel for dinner, which was excellent. There was a very well stocked bar and entertainment which we really enjoyed. We would definately recommend this hotel and booked again before we left, which in my mind is the best recommendation you can get for anyone thinking of staying at this hotel
I booked a single. The room allocated was a twin so I had plenty of space. It was ideal for two people.
The bathroom was a bit small but was fine. A few small things did not work and small repairs required. Window didnât lock and the light over the sink not working. The bed was sooooo comfy and ample tea, coffee and milk provided. Breakfast was self service and the food provided was good. Hot drinks (tea coffee) were ordered via the staff along with poached/fried eggs to go with the English breakfast. Cannot comment on the evening meal as I was b/b only. The menu looked good.
Great location, close to shops and the beach.
The staff were all very nice and friendly. There was entertainment some evenings and plenty of places to sit and relax.
The room was hot and only a small window could be opened. Even though I had it open the whole 4 days, the room was much hotter than the outside temperature.
The breakfast was good although not a lot of choice of cold items. The kippers and poached eggs were wonderful. I loved the English breakfast with mushrooms and beans. If I was to be a bit picky, the sausages were quite tasteless so I gave them a miss after the first day.
The 50's music they played during breakfast put years on me. Not everyone was old enough to remember those songs. A bit more variety would have been nice. Or better yet, no music at all so early in the morning.
Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to use the pool but it looked very inviting. Hopefully next time.
Will definitely go back.
I enjoyed the friendliness of all the staff, nothing was too much trouble. There was a lovely pool and gym for residents use. Breakfast was very good. The room was serviced every day. Thank you for a lovely peaceful week.
