Homewood Suites by Hilton Allentown-West/Fogelsville, PA

Great stay

This hotel was very clean -- off the highway so noise wasn't a problem but close enough for easy access. We checked in late - almost midnight and there were no issues upon check in. Breakfast looked good -- many options -- however we didn't have time to eat so I can't say anything about the taste or flavor. We had a suite so we had a full size refrigerator, separate bedroom, kitchen and living room area - it is a very nice sized room and would be perfect size for us for a vacation but we were traveling for business so it was arrive late and check out early so no time to enjoy it. 2 BBQ grills outside with 5 large tables with chairs so that was a nice option. Indoor pool, nice public area with sofa's and TV's. The only complaint for me was the wifi. I had trouble connecting and the FREE wifi is basic so not good for VPN or streaming. This annoyed me because when I booked it -- it was noted as free wifi, which is was, but I needed the option for VPN for connectivity for work. That option was either $4.95 or $9.95 per day unless you are a Platinum Hilton Honors member and then it was either free or discounted. This seems like a place for many business travelers so I was miffed about that. Be up front and CLEARLY state it in a visible place about the FREE WIFI being on the low, slow end. Teens trying to stream will have issues or if you are using your devices for music or movies or work VPN. I had to hot spot from my phone. Please cover the cookies at the lobby desk.

Awesome room. Outstanding service by friendly staff. Very nice!

Check-in was quick & informative. The complimentary evening social (barbecue chicken,salad, lemonade, water, etc.) and morning complimentary breakfast (scrambled eggs, pre-made omlets, cereal, juice, water, milk, fruit, etc.) was good. The lobby is beautiful and well maintained. The room was spacious and clean. The room had a kitchen with stove and refrigerator (granite counter tops). There was a table and sofa in the room. We had a large king bed which was comfortable for my wife, myself, and both young boys. The bathroom is spacious and has a huge walk-in shower. You can hear noise from rooms above, so if you have a lively group of people above you (as we did), you will definitely know they are there, LOL. The air conditioner is great. The area was a little difficult to navigate due to the dividers for traffic & on/off ramps to get to everything around, but seemed to be a nice town overall. There is a seating area outside overlooking a nice area. There was also an enclosed (fenced) small basketball area connected to the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. Top-notch, great stay. (The guy cleaning the public areas & overall upkeep of the lobby, etc. worked nonstop and was very pleasant/friendly, the front desk guy was very professional/friendly/attentive, & the food area attendant lady was very nice/attentive/hard working).
