Apartamento Prado Museum

This clean and very functional condo had everything I needed and was located within quick walking distance to the art museum triangle, and just three minutes to Prado, Botanical Gardens, and Reina Sofia. The owner was wonderful and took time to highlight places I should see beyond the museums and provided me with a map with places circled. he also suggested local restaurants that were very good and not too expensive. The bed could use a better mattress but that is my only complaint. I would definitely stay here again. If there was a 4 1/2 star rating, I would give this condo that rating.

Check in with the owner was prompt and efficient, helpful in giving us an orientation of the area, however with the Prado just one block away, it was a dynamic location, easy to get to all of Central Madrid. Major issue with the apartment was that it did not have an outside window to the street. KOnly other issue was that there were only ceiling lights, no reading lights. Kitchen well equiped.

Very well situated apartment and able to access most tourist sights by walking. Plenty of food places to eat and buy food etc within a 5 minute radius. Apartment was well equipped with things to cook and also had washing machine. Quite area, nearby main train station/metro approx 7 minutes away (walking ). Small but adequate bathroom had a separate toilet/sink, bedroom had double bed which was reasonable comfortable (could have done to have more pillows available than the smaller ones that were there). Ideal for a couple.

Brilliant location, within easy walking distance of Atocha station and very, very close to Prado and Thyssen. Also easy walking distance to Sol and old town. In terms of apartment itself, you get what you pay for. Good points were that it is spacious with separate kitchen, lounge, dining area and bedroom. Bad points were that shower curtain was very mouldy, loo brush disgusting (both easy and inexpensive things to put right but shows lack of care) and mattress not the most comfortable I've every slept on. However in terms of location and value for money, hard to beat for a short stay.
