Welcoming and charming, this historical landmark was very pleasant and a great location with a boat dock and fishing. The town is very easy to navigate and the people are friendly. Would return again!

The hotel does not accept credit cards. I didn’t know until I arrived. We went inside the Inn and tracked down an employee who checked us in. Thank goodness we had a checkbook in the car. You are suppose to text check in but I never saw the text. Very confusing.

Very nice staff. Cash only was less than ideal but managed. Room was not in great condition. Clean but the TV didn’t work and the flood lights on the signage in front shined into the windows. Very accommodating folks and great people but not a modern operation by any stretch of the imagination.

Oh, I hate writing bad reviews, but here I go. First, the positive: the girl at the front desk (owner?) - absolutely charming and delightful. If this is her recently obtained property, I hope she sinks her whole soul into it and brings it back to life! Best wishes to her! The restaurant shown in the photos is NOT open. We went to the ONE place in town to eat and got back at 7:10 pm. She said the parlor would remain open and we could come in to play billiards. The main building was locked and we could *not* play billiards as expected, so that was disappointing. She said the pool was open 24 hrs so we thought “ok, maybe a swim”. The bugs were SO BAD (not the hotels fault) that we knew instantly, that wasn’t happening. Soo, we locked ourselves in our room for the night. Despite 4 different buildings with 4 units each, we were placed wall-to-wall with the only (literally ONLY!) other guest staying on the property. Zero privacy! (Who does that?!) Other complaints are an outdated, antiquated TV, horrible, terrible, very hard bed, depressing/dim lighting and shower water so hot that a small child could very easily suffer 3rd degree burns. (Room 35: check that water temp!) Oh, and *no one* was on the property when we checked out at 9:35 am. I sent a text that we left the keys in the room. We paid $140 for one night. In comparison, we paid far less than that for gulf-front in Fort Myers Beach, with a multitude of amenities. We wish you luck in getting this property back to its glory.

Love the atmosphere, but not the accommodations.

Have always enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere of the Rod and Gun Club. While traveling in the area, we decided to stay over night. The rooms upstairs have not been rented out for many many years, but they offer a few double unit cottages. The rooms were in need of updating. The bathroom was very tiny. We found it over priced for the value.

Stayed 2 nights with our 2 dogs. Room was clean enough, beds were comfortable, however for the money paid there was zero amenities. For example, one bar of soap between the bathroom sink and shower. No coffee in the room or in the lobby. No Wi-Fi in the room. I also found it very unappealing how there were two signs at the lobby door saying that "management frowns on sightseers".

Hotel is a fun, historic property in need of a lot of maintenance. The rooms in the main building are not open, and the cabins are very basic, with window air conditioning units. The main building has scaffolding up on the sides for wood repair and painting, but no work was being done while we were there. Some of the property is closed off with orange tape, as the docks and an out building were damaged years ago and never repaired. The water to the hotel was shut off for 4 hours from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with no compensation offered by the hotel. Bring cash, no credit cards accepted and no notice of that fact. It was a historic and vintage hotel many years ago, but is now very tired.

We were banned from the property! They only answer their phones sporadically. You may or may not have a reservation unless you talk to the front desk. Good luck. It is not staffed. The public bathroom in the lobby has cobwebs draped from the ceiling like it may bed Halloween. Our room was not made up. Dirty towels, beds unmade, wastebasket full, cigar butts in the ashtray. We attempted to find staff to make up our room, but at 8pm the entire place was locked up. No lights. No one there. The food was excellent for our only meal there. Two fish dinners and 4 beers. Total bill $140.00 Yes, one hundred forty dollars. The single boat launch is okay, and you can tie up in front. Bring you own lines. There is a freshwater connection on the seawall. The male manager called us because we returned to the place and got our room charge back due to the dirty room. $160 in cash. They take NO credit cards. Cash only. You cannot put a hold on a credit card payment. We were lucky that the very nice young lady at the desk gave us a refund. The owner/manager said to us, "Don't ever f------ come back here! We lost $150 on the room. You're f------banned for life! Oh well, we would not return to such poor service and high prices and incompetent management. And no credit cards? Only cash? Hmmmmm.
