We was not happy with a couple of items regarding the rooms 112,114 would not recommend, emailed hotel and they have not even emailed me back or anything!!! Very disappointed as hotel chain had such a good reputation.
Bathroom was quirky and a little on the small side. Bed super comfy. Sunday evening roast was superb as were the cocktails and wine👍
The hotel is in a great position, overlooking the beach and an easy walk into town. The rooms are clean and functional. Breakfast was ok . Parking is a nightmare, they have a valet parking service, but the drop off points are always full . So the system doesn’t work. It makes it very stressful. I would only recommend this hotel if you intend to travel by train.
Overall the stay was very enjoyable. But I have to say that the breakfast was mediocre, lacking flavour and fresh juices (all from concentrate). The mattress in our room was in dire need of replacement, the springs were digging in and the mattress was deformed. These are the only two things that if rectified, would have made our stay 5 stars.
Nice views, and the hotel is clean. The room was small. The hotel receptionist was not the most efficient or helpful. The car parking facilities were woeful. Parking or retrieving a car took over 30 minutes. I would not return to the hotel for this reason alone.
Bathroom smelt of sewage, mould everywhere, out of date coke in the mini bar. Tried to go to the actual bar For a drink and waited nearly 40 minutes for a cocktail. The dinner was nice. Was served a completely cold breakfast the next morning that was missing the black pudding. In the end we just used the hotel as a place to sleep and went out mostly . Waste of money
Things are definitely slipping at the harbour hotel.
Our room was on first floor and was in very good condition and a good size with great views. Certainly worth 4 stars. Staff very friendly. Lunch was a disappointment. £14.50 for a crab salad that had pale grey stale new potatoes. It was changed very graciously by the waitress for a crab sandwich (same price) which came on hard stale sour dough bread. We didn't eat dinner there but breakfast was good other than the OJ was cheap (from concentrate) and the sachets of brown sauce are the cheapest products on the market.... More vinegar than sauce. We found the staff all very nice and friendly.
We came here on our honeymoon the facilities we're really nice but the poor staff are really under staffed.
did not live up to expectations; it was not a four star room, service or experience and definitely was not worth the money. At breakfast service we had to book a slot to limit numbers with capacity for COVID- we completely understand this although it would have been nice to know in advance. When we arrived on time for our slot, we then waited nearly 30 minutes for a table. We then waited a further half an hour until we received drinks- the coffee came without milk. I asked for milk 3 times and by the time it arrived the coffee was stone cold. It was over an hour later before we received any food. In the mean time, the two tables either side of us left before ever even getting their food. We stayed because we were reassured it would be ready at any moment but we were very late for our plans for the day. The host tried his best to reassure us but the waitresses were so blunt bordering on rude. The bedroom was impractical: a small room with a king bed in so there was absolutely no room to walk around the bed never mind put bags down so we had to put our suitcase in front of the door- wouldn’t be ideal in an emergency. If there is a small room, put an appropriately sized bed in it. A double bed would have sufficed. The minibar is locked and to get the key from reception you need to leave a £50 deposit- which is completely impractical when you are thirsty in the night when the night porter is on call only. Frankly the hotel losing money there but that’s their own fault.
