We stayed for a few days in August and found that the hotel grew on us over that time. The welcome upon arrival was quite disappointing, after all the wonderful hotels we'd already stayed in in Vietnam, this felt extremely cold and marred the first impressions. In general the staff are rather hit or miss, some are lovely, some couldn't care less.
We don't usually stay in such large hotels so we weren't very comfortable with the impersonal nature of the place but the room was large and clean with a lovely balcony looking out over the river. If you want to be sure to have a good room, I would suggest booking a river-view, we passed many balconies that gave directly out onto a brick wall! Also the rooms along the road must be very noisy.
The public spaces are lovely, well maintained and the two pools are also great. The hotel's beach spot is across the road - the beach is wonderful, we were worried about erosion but it is the last spot on the beach before all the rocks and is still lovely soft white sand. However, for a hotel with over 100 rooms, the number of sunbeds is low, the hotel should really bring out more.
Breakfast is fine, but PLEASE but on the sign when a food has meat in it, it's not always obvious.
Would not recommend restaurant for dinner, quality is pretty low and there are many top restaurants in Hoi An. It is also completely open - the view over the river is lovely - but in the evening it can be so hot you want to be somewhere air conditioned!
