We have stayed many times at Embassy Suites in Georgetown. The last few times we have been they either charge a $25 fee and give $25 credit at the bar, whether you want it or not. This time they wanted a $200 security deposit on top of our payment to be refunded after we left.
Itâs a great place for families to stay. Breakfast is awesome! Customer service is good. Great location as well.
The air-conditioning did not keep the rooms cool enough. We had someone come up to fix it, but even fixed, the air isnât cool enough. Hard to sleep in a warm room.
Everything was excellent. I loved the breakfast, but the fan in the bathroom doesn't work. I told the front desk the second day, but no one came to fix it. This damages the ceiling and leaves a lot of humidity.
Best hotel weâve ever stayed at, especially with our 3 kids. The service was amazing and friendly, super clean and pretty overall, pool had great hours-our kids loved it, the best hotel breakfast weâve ever had. Rooms were so spacious with the two rooms and the beds were comfortable. We stayed 3 nights and wish we couldâve stayed for 30.
Because Embassy's online room rate was about 25% more than a consolicator, I booked through another site. Due to my mobility disability I generally call ahead to secure the kind of room I prefer. I called the hotel directly, but was directed through several other contacts; eventually I ws told that I could not make my request ahead of time and had to take care of it at check-in. At that time I was advised that there were no rooms with step-in shower available (we have had them before) and no double-queen rooms near the elevator. The room we were given had a king bed and a tub/shower. We don't like accessible rooms as the roll-in shower (which I don't need) generally soak the entire room due to poor design, so we dealt with the tub, but it had one hand-rail, on the back of the tub. Not helpful for anyone, I wouldn't think. Otherwise, our stay was good. We received a coupon to offset the "destination charge" which we appreciated. I must say that the pillows have been horrible for years; several years ago we met a woman who advised that, based on customer comments, Hilton was replacing the linens/bedding - we haven't seen that yet. Additionally, we always find the bathroom lights on the motion-sensor switch to be blinding if you enter the bathroom at night. Finally, I believe that the cooked-to-order breakfast is a big draw for Embassy - it certainly is for us, but it really needs some re-vamping. The overall layout needs to be totally re-considered; call a caterer (me!)
All staff members were extremely helpful and polite. One of the TVs in our suite had been unplugged from power and cable so we had to reach behind furniture to find cords-it was very dusty behind furniture. Bed was extremely comfortable. Water pressure in shower was not great. Sound buffering between rooms could be better-we could hear noise from adjacent rooms. Breakfast was great but should make hot food accessible from both sides to improve flow of people.
It was okay. One elevator was out of service and the pool was overwhelming chlorinated that when you walked in your eyes would start to water and get irritated
