Shady charges
They charged me for mini bar that I did not use. After saying they’d refund me, they never processed. It’s crazy because they advertise fridges, but it’s stocked with expired goods without any room for you. Hotel wall soundproofing is nonexistent. Saving grace was the restaurant bar.

Mattress seemed a bit soft and broken down on one side.
Could not figure out how to make the heater warm up the room.
Bed was made without top sheet, only had bottom sheet and duvet covered comforter which was heavy and uncomfortable

Pali Hotel was an overall great experience for my husband and I during our anniversary trip. The parking situation is insane in San Diego; you will pay an outrageous amount to park whether you pay valet or for public parking. The elevator is historic, just like the building itself. We really enjoyed it, and weren't in a rush, but if you are, I'd recommend looking elsewhere if you are trying to move quickly through your day. The service provided was wonderful; the staff were very courteous and prompt.

Lovely hotel. Good quality/ price
Lovely hotel. Some rooms have windows to the interior court. We can hear very clearly the outdoor noise from the street sometimes. But after a certain hour, the area is pretty quiet. Great food at the restaurant. Awesome view from the rooftop patio. Just one step away from the comedy show. Good quality/ price.

Oldie but a goodie
Excellent staff all around. Beds and sofa bed were very comfortable. Shower temperature and pressure were very good. Elevator is an antique but part of the charm. Request a room away from it if you don’t want to hear it. Other than that, no noise issues. Rooftop terrace is great! Great spot in Gaslamp. Easy walk to plenty of restaurants and entertainment. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel with Character
Interesting old hotel. Everything has been upgraded to meet modern luxury expectations but the room layout is little quirky.

Could have been better
The hotel was funky and fun, the restaurant was very good, and the staff was super. Unfortunately the room was really disappointing - tiny, barely room to move around the bed, and a heater that sounded like an idling truck engine.

Historic hotel in the heart of San Diego GasLamp
Good hotel, very quaint and historic. Had only 1 functional elevator that was really some work to operate because it was truly an antique elevator from 1913. Room was really good, but very cramped - hardly enough space to walk around. Not enough storage space for items. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Attached restaurant is Ok. Safe neighborhood.
