Pleasant and comfortable hotel in the quiet old town of Kastav, where only authorised cars are allowed, personnel nice, breakfast buffet good. Room beautifully equipped but a couple of things were very special, notably the light switch system requiring a master's degree (definitely something to be changed if you want your guests to feel like they can go to the toilet at night without taking the risk of waking their mate up with full light in their face - a significant matter for a pregnant woman like myself whose husband gets woken up enough already), and the light of the fire alarm flashing every 4 seconds the whole night... The rest was pretty good, and quiet as soon as the terrace downstairs was empty! The spot is lovely (the view on the sea and the islands from the church square.....) but very small, although probably a good center for exploring Rijeka, Opatija etc with a little distance from touristic masses. We were there one night on the way between Istria and the mainland.
