10/10 Exceptionnel

We had a wonderful stay at Fredson’s. We’d been to Sipi a few times many years ago but this experience was different and very special. Fred and his family are wonderful and welcoming. The food is simple but delicious- Fred has worked as a chef, he baked a banana cake for a special occasion we were celebrating. Our kids and theirs played soccer and had fun together. Josiah, the elder son, supported the logistics and led a coffee tour on their land - we planted coffee seedlings, harvested the beans, ground and roasted the coffee. The next day Josiah, along with a few other relatives, led our hike of the 3 Sipi waterfalls- about 9 miles of hiking, some of which is very steep, but all of which is amazingly beautiful. There’s a big rock on their land which is a great spot for watching sunset and stargazing. If you’re considering staying here, know that Fredson’s is a very basic type of accommodation- no running water, pit latrine, etc. There is electricity but no outlet in the bedrooms. If the power is stable enough, there is one outlet in the dining room at which you can charge one device. We wholeheartedly recommend staying at Fredson’s!
