We booked this hotel through Hotels.com based on the photos and description, but the reality was drastically different — and honestly, pretty concerning.
When we arrived, we were given a key to Room 1. Upon opening the door, we were immediately hit with a strong musty/moldy smell. The furniture and walls looked dirty and neglected, and the bathroom had visible black mold around the baseboards, along with signs of water damage that still appeared wet. We didn’t feel it was a safe or healthy environment for our kids.
We went back to the front desk and spoke with Aaron, who was kind and understanding. He offered us another room to try. Unfortunately, the second room smelled strongly of cigarettes and marijuana, despite clearly being marked non-smoking. It was hot inside with no thermostat — it looked like it had been removed and never replaced. This room also had mold in the corner of the bathroom ceiling, and even worse, we found what appeared to be blood stains on the walls both inside and outside the room.
We immediately returned to the front desk and asked for a refund, only to be told that no manager is on site Friday through Sunday, which seemed odd given those are peak days for hotel stays. We left the property and booked a different hotel.
After multiple follow-ups with Hotels.com, we were told the manager finally responded — and refused to issue a refund, even though we never stayed the night and returned the key right away.
