We felt bathroom floor could have been cleaner. Nice variety at breakfast but it would have been nice if service had picked out many moldy strawberries before serving them. Loved ordering choice of omelet but young man making omelet got "testy" when I gently asked him if I was being served the right omelet. Swimming pool was great with smaller depth to 8 ft for us adults. Was nice we could sleep with 6 people in room so our family all fit in one room. Not nice that we could not refund our money even though an emergency came up. We would probably not stay at this hotel again.
Charged extra for the room. Room was dirty and bed had debris of stuff on it. Garbage cans had no trashbags. Wanted to charge the room for everything refused to take cash for anything.
The inside of the hotel is great. I was pretty impressed asking into the lobby. There is ample seating areas, small arcade area, pool table and bar. The pool area is really nice. Here is the kicker⊠the rooms are super outdated. The first room we were in had a bad smell, we asked about switching rooms and were given another room that smelled the same so we just stuck with a first room, by day two we could not be in the room. We were then moved to another room. Each room needed extra cleaning in the small bathroom. Both tubs were disgusting. The front desk people were so very kind but I am guessing each room is the same. If they would update the floors, scrub the rooms (bathrooms) it would be a five star.
The hotel is older, a little run down and not the cleanest. Some rooms smell of stale smoke. 2 out of 3 elevators work. Didnât get to eat the breakfast buffet, the lines were too long. Kids enjoyed the pool, closes at 9pm though.
Brought my 15 month old daughter to the pool and it was closed for maintenance. I didnât have butter for my toast or milk for my breakfast. Our Room TV was busted. Bed sheets were stained that were probably not changed from the night before. 1 elevator was broken causing customers to take the stairs.
The entire staff was friendly and professional. Every one we had contact with was super.
The breakfast food was delicious.
The hotel was very busy that Saturday so it was very difficult when there was only one elevator working for 12 floors. They were repaired by the next day.
The busy day also made the hotel loud and hectic. Not relaxing.
There was loud street noise outside due to drag racing, and the location of the fire department 2 blocks away.
There were dirty dishes in the alcove where the ice machine was the entirety of our stay. Pretty disgusting.
The rooms need updating- they are worn.
The location was convienient for visiting the museum and was within walking distance to the plaza where we had dinner. There was a park across the street where we took walks too.
I have been staying in Embassy Suites across the nation for almost 40 years. This one is showing its age. It is without a doubt the worst one I have stayed at. Many spots in the carpet throughout the hotel are worn out or soiled. Stayed in a premium room. Did not really observe any difference between it and a regular suite. 3 k-cups would be the only thing considered premium about it. The curfew for the pool, although I agree that one is necessary, is way too early. 10 would be better. Felt like I was watched over like a child to get out. Breakfast was picked up and cleared out before 9:30. Fortunately, I went earlier. Observed some that were not able to get much. It just felt like a run down Hampton Inn.
We went for the hot tub. Unfortunately, the entire pool area was closed for the second day/night of our stay. We had to change rooms because the people next to us were up and loud until 3am, and we were told WE had to move all of our things quickly. Itâs a pretty hotel, but I wouldnât stay there again on a weekend. Overland Park area was much more our speed.
The place is a little outdated. We waited several hours to get a blanket and asked multiple times. The elevator is super slow itâs faster to take the stairs. But when we did take the stairs our door to our level was broken so we had to walk up to another floor to get in. The fridge was broke and when we woke up there was water all over the floor. The kitchen and bathroom water leaked all night. Someone said they would come to fix it but never did. There was no towels in pool area and when they brought us some they were hand towels which were way to small to dry off with.
I had to be relocated to another room because the hot water and A/C were not working properly. The 2nd room was OK,except the A/C was too noisy. The smoke alarm was hanging off the wall, a bathroom switch was mounted crooked, the lobby was not very cool.
The largest area of concern was the fact that 2 of the 3 elevators were not working. With a busy weekend this typically meant 10-15 min waits to be able to get to the upper floors. While we were able bodied and able to go up the 10-12 flights of stairs. Many in the hotel were not. Would not stay here again.
We got there a few minutes after check-in so we didnât get any drink coupons. Literally two min too late. Only one elevator worked so we were upstairs for over 45 minutes waiting for an elevator to go down because we were on the 12th floor so we also didnât get to eat any breakfast so we had absolutely no perks there was mold in the shower. The water took forever to get cold things really need to get updated in this hotel. There are people I overheard saying they were almost gonna miss their flight because of the elevator problem I donât know why this is not being addressed.
Front desk employees very helpful⊠They are working with what they have. Hotel gorgeous but rooms/carpet/furniture are dated and in need of an update⊠Had to change rooms at check-in because something triggered my allergies.
Overall, an average experience. Nothing exceeded expectations, and unfortunately a few fell short. I stayed in room 716 and the wardrobe doors were uneven. The doors were functional, however the exterior in lackluster condition shake the expectations of the rest of the stay. Not to mention the wardrobe was crowded with other miscellaneous things that had to be removed to make room for my items. I feel as though some of those items could have had a home elsewhere.
The hotel was very nice. The only complaint that I have is regarding the hotel gym/exercise room. There were 2 treadmills One of the treadmills was broken
