The hotel is located in a great place in St. Croix perfect walking distance to so many things and right on the boardwalk by the sea. The outside spaces of this hotel are also beautiful and were well cared for...that's where the beauty ended. The front desk staff was not generally friendly and there was a notable difference in customer care once they knew you booked online through a third party site. They put me in the smallest room above the coffee shop. Their were no blinds on the bathroom window. The sheets were not clean. There was no blanket or comforter for the bed and the AC blew directly down on the bed. The AC also was leaking and when it rained, dripped on the bed. I spoke to ladies at the desk about these things and they said they couldn't change my room since I booked thru Hotels.com. Their were also large trash bags and mops left every day of my stay in the walkway to my room. It seemed I was staying in a part of the hotel that was less cared for. I think the place does have lovely rooms that are recently renovated but if you want one of those don't book thru Hotels.com. Also, don't bother eating at the restaurant attached to the hotel. It was way overpriced and the food was terrible. Walk down to Shupes on the Boardwalk. Delicious and awesome servers!

Stay Alert!!! ENSURE BALCONY LOCKS AS IT SHOULD..

Be AWARE and have your guard up. Our 1st night at approx 5 am an intruder opened our balcony door. I have no idea how my man's spidey senses went off but he jumped over me out of bed and to the balcony door. We were on the 2nd story the intruder and his buddy waiting on the ground below ran off. We called front desk security guard wasnt around came to the room 15 minutes later saying he checked and there was no one there....Of course, this all went down in under 2 minutes. Had to wait until morning requested a new room was given 2 similar options I said I would likea room where the balcony cannot be scaled. Had to wait until after 4 pm. Im not saying the hotel handled it wrong but it certainly wasnt handled right. Never spoke to management was never told they wpuld review cameras...NOTHING...to make it all worse we ran into a couple who heard the whole thing and reported it to the front desk bc they thought someone got murdered because of the loud thud...front desk brushed them off like it was nothing and no big deal and they had no idea....they were all aware of what happend..We dont have any idea what they wanted but im forever thankful to have an athletic man whose instincts kicked into over drive....i keep thinking what if it were a woman traveling alone....the balcony door lock did not work appropriately and no one ever had the decency to speak with us about the incident, look into it, or even act like guest safety was their top priority. Great location and the staff were wonderful. The room did have a moldy smell the entire time I was there (5 nights) so that was a bit unpleasant and the reason I cannot give it 5 stars. If they could work on updating the rooms a bit I think that would help make it more enjoyable.

Staff was friendly. Our room wasn't fully cleaned every day, but that was no problem except we had to ask for toilet paper a couple of times. Otherwise, everything was great!

Need Hot Water

This was the second visit to King Christian Hotel. The week before Christmas 2024 I stayed in room 309 for six nights. There was no hot water. It wasn't cold, just cool. I didn't say anything because my showers are short, and I thought it might just be the old hotel. Plus, it was Christmas!!!!! How could I complain? My second stay for three nights (supposed to be four) was February 5th through the 7th, 2025. I stayed in room 305. The water temp was the same. On the morning of the 6th, I go downstairs and people are at the desk talking about "no hot water". But apparently this was throughout the entire hotel and was not connected to my "cool" water situation. That was fixed immediately. I decided to check out of the hotel early, because I wanted a long hot shower. Upon checkout, I reported to the ladies at the front desk what had happened on both visits, and I needed to check out a day early. I had already paid in full. They proceeded to tell me the hot water had been fixed two days ago "so I don't know what your issue is". They said nothing else and offered nothing else. Being in the mood, I was, I just had to smile this day and tell myself I would not be back. This is unfortunate. The rooms are extremely nice. The location is great. The bed in room 305 does sink in and needs to be replaced.

Great location. But no service no one at the front desk knew when the ferry starts new direction they were not helpful. Worst of all my air conditioning was broken and it was four days before I could get them to move me to a new room An excusable they had the rooms and said they would be an upgrade and to pay more

Location was great. Room was decent or better. Lots of typical island challenges: humidity in the room, shower that didn't have a sealed door and made the floor a pond, staff were ambivalent at best, amentities would have been the win but were just one step below great. Nothing bad. But nothing great. Bit of a disappointment for what we had hoped. But not a bad spot.
