I initially thought I booked the Royal Sonesta on the river, but this was only a couple blocks away and within easy walking distance of all the areas of interest on the river. The room was clean, pleasant, and the bed was comfortable. There was some 2am jackhammering on the street below, so that did affect our sleep quality one night (although the teen slept just fine). We'd definitely re-book at this property!
The staff were very rude and condescending. It's supposed to be a pet friendly hotel but was told my dogs could be taken to certain parts of the facility. The water in the shower took 15 minutes to get hot. Closet doors fell apart while trying to open. Constantly put charges on my credit card during and after my stay. My trip was only $500 yet it was a hold on my funds for over a thousand dollars for what reason, I still don't know. I can't see myself staying at this hotel or any other Hilton hotel moving forward.
The proximity of this hotel is very close to the airport. Staff was extremely friendly. Prompt check-in really was a benefit for a late evening arrival and having to return back to the airport the next morning. Shuttle is frequent traveling twice every hour.
My experience was ok. Check-In process was ok. The room deposit of $100 was unexpectedly. My room was ok. I checked in on Friday night June 20th, the next day my family and I was going to enjoy the âinside poolâ only to find out that day; not at check in, that the pool wasnât open. This should have been something explained on the website and/or at check-in. The gentleman that checked me in didnât even give details of the property. As a former Hilton employee, that is very vital for the guest. When I addressed front desk about the pool situation, she got smart about it saying yes everyone is complaining about the pool. I asked if the renovations was posted on the website, she said it was but they took it down a few weeks ago. To me, that would have meant the pool was operable or a discount should have been rendered to the guest for the inconvenience. I only booked this property because it said it had a pool. Also, on Saturday night, I had to call front desk twice due to noise from the room directly above me; that was very frustrating and annoying. Sunday morning as my family and I was getting dressed, housekeeping opened the door to come in without knocking to see if we were gone.
I only stay at Hilton Garden Inn when me and my family travel. This experience this time was sorely based on the staff members that I incurred at check-in and overnight staff, they were extremely rude and unpleasant and spent too much time on their personal cell phones. We did not let this unpleasant staff ruin our trip to Atlanta tho
