Love the history of this place. True craftsmanship, a lost art these days, throughout. Room was especially clean, bed was oh, so comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
Itâs a nice place. Donât like where there is no human interaction unless you call another location who manages it. The shower handle was almost impossible to turn on and the garden tub handle was broken. Landscape has poison ivy all in it.
No hot water. Room was slanted. Foundation issue? Toilet barley flushed. The house was neat and antique, but in need of upkeep to the systems and structure. No one answers the phone after 10, so I skipped the shower I was hoping for after a day at the beach.
Iâve stayed at Coombs Inn before this trip through Apalachicola and at the Water Street Hotel and Marina. Not one to complain, but a rat in Room 23 was an unpleasant surprise. As if the entire digital key fiasco wasnât enough (at least the nice desk clerk saved the day by providing a physical key), we went to breakfast early only to come back to our room to find a live rat stuck to rat paper. I get historic homes and pests but deal with the problem. Find the way the rats are getting in and crapping on the end table. Just glad it wasnât caught in the middle of the night because the squealing would have driven us out of the unit. Hard pass on Coombs ever again.
Love this beautiful victorian home! Love the high ceilings and fans. Needs some updating and repairs as our bathroom door had a broken hinge and couldn't get TV to work. But all in all it was a good stay.đ Apalachicola was a very cool little town!
Well kept older home turned hotel, small room but well furnished. Conveniently located to walk Apalachicola. The only issue was that we couldnât find an ice dispenser.
I booked a premium 2 bedroom apartment and got a 1 bedroom room. Not happy, but they have nothing else and it's after hours. I paid for something I didnt get and they have blamed Expedia. I will be looking into this tomorrow
