Overall quite pleasant. Definitely an older cabin experience BUT they have made it clean and comfortable. Priced a little high for the condition of the cabin, yet customer service was good.
Cozy, not exceptional. All the professional pictures were clearly of the "up the hill" cabins not the Bonanza or the other one that shares a wall with it. Those 2 are 100 feet from the busy road and not nearly as nice as what was advertised. The amenities we have come to expect in our "cabin rental" travels were not there. No extra blankets to be found, mis-matched sheets, ill fitting comforters and spreads and did I mention the shag carpet kitchen? Where electric had been re-wired old boxes and lines are cut and left dangling. Certainly not dangerous but not professional at all.
Excellent stay. Such a home like atmosphere that made it easy to relax and chill after a day of site seeing. Comfortable beds. Quiet surroundings. Nice size frig and stocked utensils/pans made cooking for the family easy. Nice added bonus of a gas grill to use too. Very friendly deer wandering through. The overlook of Pikeâs Peak was astonishing. Would definitely stay here again!
We were in the Independence cabin, it was a lot more roomy than I expected, very rustic, had everything that we needed. We would stay here again in a heart beat.
The owner, James, was there to meet me and show me around upon my arrival. He even texted me while I was enroute to get an ETA so someone would be there for my arrival. The cabin I stayed in was the Cascade. It was clean and roomy and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances, dishes and pots and pans. It is situated near main roads that lead into Black Forest, Colorado Springs and Monument. I plan to go back on my next trip to CO.
This was a cool, cozy cabin just outside of Colorado Springs. Definitely didnât feel like you were close to a big city and was surrounded by trees. Wish I had booked a longer trip.
The cabin was rustic, clean and spacious. It has WiFi and Netflix, although we did not use either. The kitchen has all of the necessary items for cooking. The bed was soft and comfortable. The Cascade cabin was closer to the main than I envisioned, but nice. The owner was very nice and easy to communicate with through technology! I would stay here again!
This little cabin was absolutely adorable! Over 100 years old so we were pleasantly surprised at how clean it was. We stayed plenty warm with the heat generated from the gas fire. The only disappointment was that the bathtub leaked (badly) so we couldn't take showers/baths! James was very gracious about it. He offered to move us to a different cabin for the 2nd night of our stay. Overall, we were very pleased with the service, the ambiance, and the cleanliness of the Black Forest Lodge. It is good to note that the Cascade Cabin is quite close to the road so there was a bit of traffic noise. The other cabins are further back into the woods.
