The booking details arenât accurate on here from what the hotel told us. I donât understand why there would be an option to pay later when the hotel said we can pay no later than 2 weeks in advance. We almost lost our room, and the communication wasnât great. We spent 4 hours during a really busy time for us trying to figure out what was going on. We checked in fine, but I was getting charged twice and had to fix it with the hotel and spent more time and stress which was another inconvenience I had to deal with again during my trip and the short amount of time that we did have. I did enjoy my stay, but this was one of the most slippery resorts weâve ever stayed at.
Honestly we didn't know how fun this place was going to be! I barely looked at photos, just focusing on reviews and there was SO MUCH TO DO!! We were busy from sun up to sun down, though we could have rested we had so much fun in the pools and down at the river, relaxing in hammocks and just shedding the stress of normal life.
This resort is absolutely amazing, and I would go back again and again! The only downside was the beds were SUPER firm, too much for me but we balanced that out with pool time and the overall relaxation made up for it.
Will be back!
Staff was great and hotel was beautiful. Food was good but could be better. Because we traveled during the holiday busy week, it took us an hr to get to downtown la Fortuna. So, most nights we decided to stay at the hotel for dinner. It would be nice if things stayed open later like the hot springs and kids club, etc. But the service was exceptional. Free laundry machines to wash your clothes and shoe dryer was a bonus!
The restaurants were not open at all times and being that were far from town need more food options a dining options so we can enjoy at diff venues. Cost of food was a bit expensive and with kids it adds up so maybe a discounted pizza bar and ice cream bar for kids to eat so available at all hours and easier for parents. Lovely views and staff experiences.
