AC filter was dirty and was very congested my whole stay. Was coughing and had a runny nose. I wanted to swim in the pool but it looked like it hadn't been clean in a long time. Floating hair and leaves were inside.
The room was very clean and most of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The biggest annoyance was they are doing some construction on the hotel I assume and of course that normally wouldnât be an issue, but when there is loud banging and construction going on at at 6:30 in the morning itâs not fun. Overall it was a good experience just wish we could sleep in without being bothered.
We live in town, and had our AC break , so I chose the closest place to our neighborhood. I have stayed here before and don't remember it being in quite this state. Great location but, for the price, it could use a face lift. We'll likely choose somewhere else next time.
The room was spacious, but didn't feel super clean. There was visible mold in the caulking of the shower and some random hairs on the floor that weren't ours. The carpet was also oddly sticky- hopefully from an improper rinsing from the last cleaning?
The state of some of the fixtures and furniture didn't make it feel any more comfortable. The bedcovers were worn and frayed and the beds were squeaky and stiff. The toilet barely flushed and ended up clogging. There was visible rust/ buildup on the shower bench and the handheld shower head would not stop leaking cold water.
The front manager was very monotone and unenthusiastic whenever we interacted. She also has difficulty communicating with guests in a timely manner, evidently shown when we tried to call the front desk but had to wait extremely long for her to just pick up.
Hotel-wise, they didnât have any slippers even when requested. The breakfast was also only mediocre at best. Nothing terrible, but nothing exciting either.
All in all, it was a very average experience.
320$ for a sleepless night in Hampton Inn!
Our stay at the Hampton Inn Downtown Gainesville was truly awful. My family and I couldnât sleep the entire night due to extremely loud noise coming from the streetâpeople shouting, music blasting from cars. The hotel is located right across the street from several restaurants/bars, and the noise carries all the way up to the top floor, where we were staying. Thatâs how loud it was.
The police showed up once and the music stopped briefly, but it started right back up again. I had to get up at 3 a.m. to call the front desk and ask them to call the police again. This back-and-forth went on for most of the night. We were exhausted and frustrated. I had to eventually play sleep meditation music in a loud volume to cancel out the pounding noise a little bit to take a quick nap during the night.
We paid $320 for a night of little rest, and the worst part? The hotel refused to offer any refund or compensation. At any other hotel Iâve stayed at, when something this disruptive happens, theyâre quick to take responsibility and at least offer a partial refund or credit. Not here.
I am not sure that night, if everyone else is sleeping with an earphone on, or if they just gave up calling the front desk. But if you are someone like me, who can't fall asleep during a rock concert, avoid this place at all cost!
