Terrible experience. The hotel itself looks cheap and depressing, but thats something I could have lived with for one night. Worst was that the tram on the street was so incredibly loud and made the room shake. I got to the hotel around 5pm and wanted to do some work in my room but was not able to because of how loud the team was. Additionally, I was unable to get the wifi to work on my computer, even after calling for there help. I called down to ask about the team noise and they said that there's nothing they can do, it's just the noise you get on the street side. Clearly, they were fully aware of the problem. I asked if they could move me to another room and they said no because they were all booked up. The irony is that in the description of the rooms on Expedia, they go out of their way to say that all their rooms are 'soundproofed'.
Anyway, it was so bad that if I couldn't do my work, there was no way for me to sleep with that noise level. They refused to help but thankfully Expedia came to the rescue, we found a hotel a block away that was 1) much nicer looking and 2) cheaper and Expedia booked that hotel for me and reimbursed me for the Augusten since the hotel didn't have the decency to do it. Thanks for the exceptional client service Expedia!
And if you are looking for a hotel in this neighborhood in the same price range , I highly recommend the Ruby Lilly. Great friendly staff!
