Just as described, filled with backpackers, with a nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend this as an alternative to hostels. If you are looking for a relaxing hotel, this is not the place, the music from the lobby/restaurant starts relatively early and stops around midnight.
We had a private room. The room is small but has everything you would expect for the price. We were looking for a place in the heart of the city, convenient and affordable. I don't think we could say it was particularly comfortable but when you are young and want to go out, this does the job.
The reason we picked this place out of all the others was because of its affiliation to Mad Monkey hostel - we ended up not even going to their pool or seeing Mad Monkey, but it was another recommendation we had... unfortunately they were all booked for the time we went.
The positive things about this hotel are the staff and the location. The staff is helpful, and as Siem Reap regulates most prices for tourism, you don't feel like they are ripping you off. We rented a motorcycle from the hotel, it worked fine and was affordable.
