I stayed at Hotel Ganesh Himal for a total of 2 weeks. The hotel really shines with it's friendly and welcoming staff as well as with it's comfy courtyard. Special thanks to Siri and the other waiters for the great service. The same goes for Kancha, who I believe is the janitor. I found the food offered great and reasonably priced. I also liked the location which is not in the midst of the annoying chaos of Thamel, but still not more than a few minutes away.
The rooms are somewhat dated but that didn't bother me. I stayed in different rooms of the same category and found they were quite different. In some the bathroom fixtures are not ok, some missing a shower screen, kettle filters are dirty and other small things that do however make a difference. In my view it wouldn't take much effort to improve these things. Cleanliness could also be improved.
