All the staff were so helpful. No problem changing my room when I had a view straight into a tree... after that blissful view of mountains. Lots of space in the family room (more like a small flat) but furniture is rather sparse and basic. Food was very good and an extensive menu - the kitchen clearly takes pride in what it does. You are high up on a hill â so everything is a tuk-tuk or car ride away. Very quiet and almost nothing happens in the evening. So this is the place if you want peace and relaxation. Lovely flowers through the hotel, and tea estates easy to visit from here.
Though the location is very good the hotel is very basic . The rooms are furnished like a pwd guest house . Very basic. The toilets have a guter stink. They shifted my room because of the stink and the other also had the same stink. The Wifi never worked. The staff was very nice speciall Philip who took us for a morning trail to the tea garden. The breakfast was good.
Your confirmation to us said ALL PAID but still i was charged ts.2000 per night as a supplement which is not fair . So if you dont mind the basic room and the stink you can consider this place.
Munnar Tea Country Resort is a beautiful resort with amazing staff. The local cuisine served at the restaurant is to die for. Loved the place and would highly recommend Munnar Tea Country resort to any traveller to Munnar.
Disappointing Hotel - will not recommend / revisit
Unfortunately, there are several aspects about this property that impacted my experience for a 1 night stay at the hotel on 4/27/2017 and will definitely not make me recommend this property.
1. Hotel location is not convenient and/or desirable. The hotel approach itself is awkward and difficult for an average vehicle.
2. I paid extra specifically for the AC option and the AC in the room was not working. The hotel staff tried to fix the AC as late as past midnight without any luck. Not only did I have to wake up to deal with this but the remainder of the night was not pleasant either.
3. The view from the room (a premium room with a valley view at an additional cost) was completely obstructed by a huge tree right outside the balcony. When I brought this up-to the hotel manager, he simply stated that they are not allowed to cut trees. I can understand the part about not cutting trees but that is not a sufficient reason for customers who are paying extra / premium for the view.
4. The property is dated and not well maintained.
5. The only onsite restaurant is a shabby environment and also casts doubt on the cleanliness of the kitchen.
6. The hotel staff is nice until all is going well. The hotel manager himself is not empowered to fix a guest experience and tends to pass the blame / responsibility onto customers.
The hotel description on travel sites and pictures are not all reflective of the property.
We visited to Munnar in April.
Very pleasant stay at hotel,
the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The restaurant staff were also friendly,
very eager to please us.
Overall we had a great time there.
Customer service was spot on. Fabulous food, amazing coffee. They have a Spa (outsourced), me and my wife both took advantage of the service and it was one of the best I have ever received. Our stay was for 2 days and no where during our stay we felt we could have chosen a better place and we would totally book this place again.
amazing service! the most friendly staff! delicious food! set us up with a full day of sight-seeing with a private driver (very reasonable price for this). superior stay!
It's a nice hotel in the heart of the tea country with easy access to all the major tourist areas in Munnar. We had booked an AC cottage that was the size of a rather large one bedroom apartment. The cottage was outfitted with all the necessary furnishings and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The free breakfast buffet had a wide selection of foods, and the in room dining was also quite satisfactory. Overall, a very nice place to stay.
Stayed in the hotel for 3 days in December 2016 along with my wife and parents.
Pros:
Location - scenic spot with good views from the hotel
Service - always attentive to a request, go out of the way to make you feel comfortable
Activities - always have a couple of entertaining activities lined up in the evening eg: free mehendi session, bonfire, karaoke
Guided trek - this is a must - a 1 hour tea estate trek. A special word for Philip who guided us on the trek. He went out of the way to make the entire trek extremely informative and comfortable, with special attention to the needs of elder patrons
Cons:
Villa layout - if i have to be nitpicky, the villas are duplex's with the bedroom on top, and the washroom on the ground floor. Can be an irritant for midnight nature calls!
Distance from Munnar town - for those who prefer proximity to Munnar town (though there's not much there to do), this could be an issue
All in all, an extremely pleasant stay made comfortable with excellent service standards.
I was quite disappointed with this hotel. We travelled India extensively during our trip and stayed at a number of 4 star hotels which were not only cheaper than the Munnar Tea Country Resort, but much nicer too. The hotel is becoming run down, the furniture is cheap and unsightly and dining room has an awful ambience despite the lovely view. Our bathroom was 2 star in my opinion. No hot water either!
There wasn't anything special or exciting about this resort.
The staff kept ringing our bell asking if we want to have diner and if we want to buy a spa package, the were told more than once but kept sending people asking.
The hotel is very average and the property needs renovations.
The bathroom does not have running hot water, a geyser must be turn on 20 min in advance and will provide a limited supply of water.
The sofa in the living room is very uncomfortable to sit in.
the stay was quite comfortable, the staff was really nice and their hospitality is commendable. ambience and sleep quality are excellent , we enjoyed our stay mtcr. will recommend it
