This property is central to downtown and easy access to Queens Park savannah and local restaurants and bars. They provide parking and property is secured at night. Breakfast is provided for a fee but could be a bit better (more options). Overall though, it is a great place to stay. We enjoyed ourselves
Location is fine with some cheap easterly and restaurant few blocks away.
Security wise, it is good with guards 24 hour.
However, room and facility is rather old.
This is about the worst place we have ever stayed. We were there for two nights but only one day, which I expected to be fully occupied sight seeing so didnât want to spend too much paying for facilities we wouldnât use. But this was really below what one would expect. Extremely primitive, dated, with so little comforts that there wasnât even a hairdryer in the whole hotel. A lamp had to be requested but we didnât bother as we deliberately avoided spending any time there. We arrived late Sat evening and left 6.00am Monday. When we did arrive back in the late afternoon of our stay our room had not been serviced so I called reception to report it. The receptionist informed me that the cleaner didnât show up that day. I told her that if they are running an actual business charging guests for the service, they needed to call someone else, but she didnât seem to understand that logic. Standards are very low.
Truthfully the receptionist was very sweet and tried to be helpful, brought fresh towels up and gave us advice on tours and transfers but we would never recommend such low standard accomodation.
This is an average hotel on a good spot of Port of Spain, 10 minutes walk to the main avenue and in a safe area. The staff are nice and helpful. The rooms are simple, but: 1) safety box are wooden, broken and you need a padlock 2) the schower are just dripping (bad design) 3) the aircondition are very loud.
Place is immaculate. Staff helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is free--continental--or at cost for those who want more. Good security. This isn't the Hilton, but neither is the price. Good location in proximity to eating on Maraval Rd plus other restaurants; the Oval for Cricket; banking; pan yards to list to some steel pan; oh--one deficit. No hairdryer! They are working on that. I thought the hotel would be adequate and it exceeded expection.
