It is historic.. that is for sure. The room was very cool, exposed brick, and a radiator. The bathroom was good, nothing crazy. The issue was the self-checkin… Good in theory but I felt pretty unsafe not having seen a single soul aside from the sweet housekeeping lady. I didn’t like how all the unoccupied rooms all had their doors open. On top of that, they give you a code for the outside doors so you can access the building but the front door was left unlocked the entire time. That combined with the open doors to all the rooms was enough to make me uncomfortable. I know it’s a small town, but what if someone came in? There are cameras but it just didn’t feel safe at all in that regard. We didn’t end up staying the night because I could not get comfortable enough to sleep there.
Oh, and we found a random working lighter in the sheets.
Anyways.. cool to visit and experience during the busy season maybe? We stayed in the dead of winter so I do recognize that we were there during the off-season. Regardless I think there are a few quick fixes that would make guests feel safer and more comfortable!
We have no ill feelings towards the property or the owners/hosts, just isn’t for us.
