Good:
Breakfast/ Location/ Room Size/ Condition of hotel/ Wifi
Bad: Amenities Listed Do not Exist at the Hotel! There is no fitness center nor Spa Services available, which is why I chose this hotel. The area is noisy all night long. They tried to change my room, I stood firm and had my reservation to show it was correct.
Great place to stay... for business, shopping downtown, partying (all accessible by cab / boda), and proximity to buses to neighboring country cities (Nairobi and Kigali) - located right downstairs. However, if you taking a flight you need to leave real early as the traffic is crazy - cab drivers turn off ignition every 10 meters of movement through traffic.
Central location in Kampala. The staff were often a bit short with us. We showed up after check in time and we still waited over an hour for a room. They acted put out that we had to wait for them to finish our room. The bus station next door is very loud until about 11 pm. We stayed twice - both rooms were okay. The beds were decent. The toilets leaked water all day and night. You have to wear sandals to take a shower- the water shoots everywhere in the bathroom and eventually flows down a drain. The food for breakfast was okay- not a large selection. The restaurant staff were often a bit rude and if you asked for an extra egg at breakfast- NO. I might stay here again if I could not find a better deal. The value for money was okay. Cab drivers all know where it is- easy to find.
My wife and I stayed here overnight before catching an early bus. We arrived around 8:30pm on a bus from Kigali, and had chosen this hotel due to its proximity to the bus station. The location is perfect if you are arriving by bus or have to catch one early the next day. There is a small restaurant downstairs which does nice, basic meals. That was much appreciated after our long journey.
The room was quite big and comfortable, with everything as advertised. However we noticed a number of small bugs crawling around which was a bit of a concern. Being right above the bus station means it is quite loud during the night.
The staff were disappointing on arrival. I had called ahead to say we would be arriving late due to traffic; I'm not sure who I spoke to on the phone but they had to ask which hotel I was staying at, so it is some kind of central number. When we arrived, the staff seemed a bit confused and suspicious of me having booked online, as if I hadn't paid. I asked a few questions about the bus station and got less than helpful answers. I understand it was late in the evening and it is difficult to be enthusiastic but the front desk staff were standoffish.
This hotel is quite nice or the location and perfect if you are catching a bus. Otherwise probably not your best choice for a long-term stay.
Convenient location. Some staff were kind, others were very rude but overall good. With they accepted debit/credit cards. Difficult to manage booking with a cash-only system. Good wifi connection. Great breakfast.
Location is not good, nose level is high because its next to roads and a bus terminal.
But if you're planning to travel out of Kampala, its convenient for you to book the bus at the terminal to travel out of Kampala.
