We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Skaftafell! The food was excellentâfresh, flavorful, and perfect after a long day of exploring the south coast. The room was very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing night.
The location is also ideal for visiting nearby glaciers and waterfalls, and the views are stunning. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through the area!
Awesome little cottages that were very cozy and comfortable. The property is right off the ring road but tucked in a farm with a supremely friendly dog and cliffs and a river right there. The breakfast is absolutely worth it and a lovely way to start the day.
An absolutely wonderful place surrounded by beautiful nature.
There was a stunning view from the room.
The staff were friendly and welcoming.
The room was clean, tidy, and had all the essentials.
Breakfast was good.
During our stay, we were visited by the propertyâs dog, who was friendly and great company.
Good size room for our needs, got in late and left early and was a comfortable night sleep. On a farm so there were animal smells but not noticeable in the room itself. Some farm equipment was running by 7am. Bathroom was smaller and a little dirty but an older place so expected. Cute waterfall on the property. Good breakfast. Slept well!
The receptionist was very kind with us and gave a lot of suggestions, one of which were to dinner nearby. The breakfast was not so rich but good enough to start over for the day ahead.
We stayed here for two nights so that we could do a glacier and ice cave hike, and a glacier lagoon boat trip at Jokulsarlon.
The guesthouse was in an amazing setting close to the mountains. The cabins were clean and very comfortable.
The included continental breakfast was excellent. It would have been nice if they'd offered a dinner option too, but the owner was able to recommend the restaurant at the nearby Hotel Smyrlabjorg. We ate there both nights and the food was amazing.
We were also lucky enough to see the northern lights both nights right from the porch outside our cabin.
I would definitely recommend staying here if your are visiting the Jokulsarlon lagoon or doing the ring road.
