Hong Kong Stadium is a 40,000-seater sporting venue in downtown Hong Kong’s Causeway Bay. Built in 1994, it’s played host to some of the largest sporting events in Hong Kong, including the world-famous Hong Kong Sevens Rugby Tournament which takes place in spring every year, usually in March or April. It’s also home to the South China Football Club and the Cathay Pacific HSBC Hong Kong Sevens.

International football matches attract fans from all over the world to this modern sporting venue. Soccer exhibition matches between English Premier League clubs and a nominated Asian team often take place at the stadium. Some of the best seats in the open-air stadium are located in the lower tiers, though the higher tiers usually have a better atmosphere. The areas behind each goal are uncovered, so be aware if you are planning to watch an event from July to September (when rain is a common occurrence in Hong Kong).

There are several executive boxes, along with dedicated wheelchair-accessible seating available at Hong Kong Stadium. Additional facilities include a restaurant, food and drinks kiosks and several executive lounges. Hong Kong Stadium is within a 5-minute walk of the Causeway Bay MTR Station – take Exit F and follow the signs leading to this popular sporting venue.
