From the formal uniforms of the service personnel to the polished wood staircase to the lobby that manages to be at once large and intimate, this hotel is perfect for a stay in the historic center of Rome. You can't beat the view from your breakfast table, overlooking the Forum, and the rooms are old-fashioned in a pleasing way. Spacious bathrooms and firm mattresses, wooden shutters to block the light, minibar and hairdryer: no fancy frills, but everything you need. It can be loud due to the bar across the street or noisy guests in the halls, so if you are a very light sleeper, you may wish to bring earplugs. Lovely staff was very friendly and helpful.
