Overpriced for what you get
Way overpriced for the quality of room & service received. The front desk didn't even give me the WiFi password at check-in. We called 3 times from our room, no answer. Had to go back downstairs. Room felt poorly renovated and had a bad smell. Sheets were yellowing. Went to the rooftop bar for a nightcap, but it was playing club-like music that did not send itself well to a relaxing evening. Would not stay here again and would not recommend to a friend.

The Pontchartrain is a unique and affordable option for family suites in New Orleans, and one of the few options located uptown. It's close to great shopping, walkable to great parks and on the street car line. The hotel's restaurants and bars are great. However, the front desk staff left a sour taste in our mouth. When we arrived, the front desk had dozens of people waiting to check in. They were fighting with the cleaning crew over the radios in front of the guests. Chaos. We got to check into 1 of three of our rooms three hours after check in.
