There is not much to like about the hotel. After checking in, it took us about half an hour to get to our room. First, we were given a room (301) that was inaccessible. The elevator was broken, and a steel bar bolted shut the third-floor door. So we were not able to get to our room. We returned to the front desk, reported this, and were given a new room. It wasn't easy to get to this second room (266) because many doors were chained and bolted. Since this process took so long, my wife needed to go to the bathroom, but no restrooms were available since all of them were locked and inaccessible.
We finally found our way to our room, which was in poor shape. The molding had detached from the wall, and the towel rack was falling off. The shower did not have hot water, so we were unable to take a shower. The chair in the room was filthy and stained, so we did not want to use it. We also found a bug crawling in the room.
From the outside, it looks like it was once a great hotel. The pictures shown on the webpage were from its better days. The lobby and rooms bear no resemblance to what they are now. The swimming pool and restaurant have long been closed, and there was no ice machine.
We say many people that look like they are homeless. We did not feel safe.
