Terrible hotel, pool/hottub out of order, coffee machine broken. Paid for extra person and still only got 2 towels, only 1 pellow per person. Not even a glass for water. Vent in the bathroom doesnt work. Bedside phone doesnt call front desk.
Hotel was basic. It offered basic tv, but could not access internet on tv (no YouTube, Netflix, etc). Room had basic amenities, no hair dryer, no iron... there was only one complimentary water bottle, yet we had a king bed - room for two. Coffee machine was problematic. Parking was difficult. Bathroom sink was very slow to drain which was gross when we were brushing our teeth/washing face. Shower head was nice and bed comfortable. Room was pretty clean, but again - basic, no microwave...the bedroom had a "peep" shower...which was weird...you definitely don't want guests to come drop in on you while someone is in the shower...you will have quite the view.
Most everything was really great - newly renovated, clean, attractive, excellent restaurant and lounge, excellent staff. Only cobs we found were: only one office chair provided in a double bed room, lack of stability bar or something in bathrooom, need written instructions available for both tge TV and especially the in-room Nespresso machine.
The stay was okay. The staff were decent. It was unfortunate that the hot tub wasnât working even though it was promoted that it was - itâs the main picture when you review the listing. The clientele was a little dodgy but thatâs out of the hotels control. There was slamming doors every hour in the middle of the night. Food at the pub near by is mediocre. Okay hotel but overpriced.
Our room was newly renovated very clean and the bed was very good. We had a view of the river which was amazing It was lacking towel racks which I assume is in the works. We had some construction noise but limited to 10-6 pm. We went to the Irish pub which was very run down. The surrounding area was sketchy.
I arrived at 4:30 and it took over an hour for the room to be ready. The area around the property ( the parking lot), the lobby are pretty grim and I wondered what I had gotten myself into. Luckily when I exited the elevator to my room floor and my room I was pleasantly surprised . The room could have had a nicer view (the parkade) but the room was nice, it was clean and the bed was comfy. I couldn't figure out how to make the room cooler than 27 degrees but I could have called the desk so that's on me. I found a spot in parking everytime I returned.
