Nice authentic hotel with an old part with a lot of charm, new part lessâŠlots of rooms,
Clean room, parking can be busy with outsider coming, nice bar
Restaurant Brasserie was under our expectation, 3 times the ribeye needed to be cook properly!
Afternoon tea served, nothing fancy, just classic
Breakfast is good, not many choices but the food is good
nice place to stay; would reccomand the old rooms in the castle part rather than the modern part (much less charming). very good restaurant (very important to book as very busy).
It was a shame the TV set didn't worked and wasn't fixed!!
Lovely venue old venue, went for a birthday party, would recommend to friends visiting from abroad.
Only negative was the shower was stuck on boiling and locked at a height for someone vertically challenged, I near enough had to sit down to use it.
Lovely hotel, but all staff need some training on customer service - i constantly felt i was a hassle to them
Evening meal was good, but breakfast buffet was very poor with luke warm sausages and cold bacon.
Had a meeting in the hotel and returned to Brasserie for Lunch to faced with another buffet and was faced with cold chips and luke warm sausages (saved by hot gravy)
A beautiful venue with great amenities, taken advantage of the gym and spa area as well as the bar. Great night sleep and perfect for proximity to a wedding i attended. Did have an issue with the key cards needing to be reset , but this was minor and didnt create any issue. Breakfast buffet was really top notch too.
Good evening
My name is Rob Stanford and I stayed at your hotel the 24th of May until Monday 26th of May.
You have a lovely premises, but youâre really let down by your maintenance team. My partner and I went for drinks in the bar and the amount of lightbulbs out showed a real lack of care. There was loads of lightbulbs also out in the pool area.
Breakfast in the brasserie is not a great success. Eggs needs to be cooked more to order as they was hard as bullets but the real concern is the lack of control from management. No one was directing staff what to do,where to clean and what to tidy up. I know we came down for breakfast quite late on the Monday but to have an 81-year-old man doing all the cleaning and tidying up while all the rest of the staff stood around pretending to do nothing. Itâs not on. People are having to queue to get clean mugs, tables littered with debris and managers wandering doing nothing but pretending to be working hard.
I have been in hotel management for the last 30 years and it was a pretty disappointing scene. All I can say is if I was in charge, they wouldâve been directing the staff and getting their hands dirty rather than standing round at reception desks.
