We thought weâd stay in a Holiday Inn because we thought it would be more upmarket than our usual Premier Inn stays.. how wrong. This is a tired soulless motorway service station stop. Apparently only 4 rooms have baths and theyâre charged out at executive suite rates. This wasnât clear at booking. The glass shower door rattled like it was going to come off its hinges, the shower and toilet reminded us of being on an overnight ferry. Rooms are tired, small tv, the staff had forgotten to make up a sofa bed for the kids. The doors were heavy with gnarled and worn wood, and banged constantly, resulting in very poor sleep. Meal for 4 was extortionate and very poor quality for the money charged. Very poor selection of drinks at the bar.
Fine for the miriad of workmen and suited salesmen but very little comfort to speak of.
If youâre with a family, Avoid!
Overall pretty good- room was decent size, clean, beds were comfy and breakfast was nice- the only thing that let it down a tad was the booking was for 3 people and yet there was only 2 of everything (water glass, mugs, tea bags etc).
