The price for the location is excellent. It is near the middle of all of the main sights downtown. The building is old, which makes it interesting, but also can be challenging to get luggage to the 4th floor. The staff are very willing to help, but it is something to be aware of. The rooms were clean and there was room service every day.

Hotel Gambetta, being a 2-star property, is as youd expect, basic, clean, and no frills. The room was comfortable and clean, but relatively small. The staff were great, and very helpful. Location is very central and walkable, with parking approximately 300m away. There was noticeable street noise at night, and the blockout curtains didnt quite shield the night lights.

My boyfriend and I spent a weekend in Bordeaux and this hotel was the perfect solution. Close to the most important spots of the city and very clean! The reception operating 24 hours a day is a plus and I have to say they were extremely kind and professional.

For the star level of this hotel, the price and the location….it was excellent. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean. They are currently doing some renovations, so there is some noise after 9am, but we were out exploring by then. Can’t wait to see their remodel. Would stay here again.

Everything lovely and clean, bedding wonderful - but it could do with a bit of redecoration, some areas looking tired and in need of painting. Parking €35 for two nights as special deal with hotel. Hotel is nicely situated , close to - but not in the middle of it all. Easily walkable , and although it’s in a lively area by day it is quiet on a night . It is a pleasant and basic hotel - was perfect for me. If you want luxury then you need to upgrade on spec and cost - this is ideal for one or two nights. Staff are friendly and helpful , breakfast at €9 is not overly expensive as you can have as much as you like. It was worth the money and the bed was comfortable

The room was very small, no safe, or fridge. Peeling paint on walls, average bathroom decor and noise from street with window shut was still loud. Luggage was difficult to get into room with significant steps from the lift. No plug sockets on one side of the bed. Only 4 hangars supplied for 2 people was not enough for a 3 night stay especially with limited room to open & store suitcases. Great location however and friendly staff.
