We found the hotel and the gardens really picturesque, but are disappointed by the services and the amenities of this 4* hotel... not a good value for money in our eyes.
The esthetic and the situation of the establishment is fantastic: close to the lake, great for accessing the promenade or jumping in the water on a hot summer day. But that's about it.
Regarding the rooms, we thought that the garden-facing rooms situated in the basement of the hotel (with a view on the garden) are outdated, humid and tend to get hot on summer days as they get most of the sun in the afternoon. They are directly in front of the lounge chairs were people are sunbathing in their swimsuits. The hotel does not have AC, but proposes stand-alone fans in the rooms which don't really help during the summer. The renovated room we ended up choosing was more spacious but adjacent to the kitchen: it had a master bed, an extra single bed and a tiny bathroom where only one person could stand. It did not include a coffee-maker, water heater or tea/coffee as would normally be expected in a 4* hotel. Located next to the kitchen, we could hear the kitchen noises (plates banging, etc.), which was not so much of a problem for us, but took away the "romantic" aspect of our trip.
Regarding the food, it was very average, maybe because the hotel also proposes half-board? Quality was sub-optimal compared to the other establishments of this class. We ordered à la carte and were also disappointed by the taste.
