This place is a trash heap. The first person I encountered was a guy who was hired to spray for bugs. (I didn’t know this until later or I would have left.) The older lady at the desk was dismissive. Not rude, but very very unwelcoming or maybe even perturbed by my audacity to see about early check-in. I will give her a pass though, because she was very vocal about how it was the end of her shift, and three people had been busting her chops about not doing reports correctly. (I digress). I have never in my life seen so many notice signs in ANY hotel about how the La Mesa Police were in close contact with the hotel and “work closely” with them. I understand safety, just didn’t know it was such a necessity. Showed up around 1 to see about an early check in, the parking was empty. And not a housekeeper in sight. Maybe they were working on the other side of the building? I digress.
Sat in my car and waited for the next few hours, came back in about 1.5 hours to see if there were any. I walk up to the front and want to stress that she did not check, she did not radio, she just said, “not ready yet” before I got the door open. Come back around 2:45 and it’s ready. Thanks Helen?
The room at first glance is what I expected for $75 and I plop down for a catnap. Wish I hadn’t. Woke up 30/45 mins later and walk to the bathroom where the literal bugs life movie is in the room. Including a giant spider in the light and moths and allllll the things that
