The hotel is beautiful and the service was vwry good. The issue I had was my wife has a mobility issue and we did not realize our room was on the 3rd floor and they do not have an elevator or way to get up there.
Location style and look were excellent. The bed was so high off the ground it had steps to get up into it; less mobile travelers may fond that daunting. The hot water took multiple minutes to get there. Parking can be tricky especially on busy days at the cathedral next door.
Very welcoming, small inn with accommodating staff. The included breakfast was excellent. However, being an historic building, expect a bit more extraneous noise from other rooms and staff. And those with mobility issues should call the hotel before booking. Most, if not all, rooms require climbing stairs.
Parking can also be an issue, as the hotel has no parking lot and you must park along the street.
Old colonial house. Nice common areas and garden. Breakfast included was good but minimal. Assitionaly they had fruits cofee and tea in the living room. In the evening they had port and delicious fresh cookies. My room was a garden level room - most probably assigned to servants in the old days. Not my cup of tea. Small room, no dresser - had to hang my clothes in the bathroom, dirty windows, no way to open them for fresh air. Sheets and towels were nice and clean. Nice chandeliers too. Maybe I should have asked them to change my room. They did seem quite busy. Overall was ok but I will not return to this inn.
The Hamilton Turner Inn is a gorgeous property with a rich history. We have stayed here twice now and had an excellent experience each time. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and well decorated with very comfy beds. The home is very central to area restaurants and shopping, we walked everywhere. The breakfast each morning was delicious in their beautiful dining room. We loved the special touches like afternoon wine and cheese and late evening brandy. I highly recommend staying at Hamilton Turner Inn on your next visit to Savannah.
It's a beautiful property ... so close to all the attractions and right across from the park. Our room was beautiful and the breakfast was amazing. We had a lovely time.
We have been to Savannah many times and this is by far and away the best place to stay! Tim and crew were amazing and the service was amazing! We will be back!
