2/10 Médiocre

How would you rate an hotel that cancels your reservation behind your back and blames Expedia for it?
We booked the Seawatch and paid in full on July 24.
Imagine this... You just drove 1000 miles to get to the Wyndham Seawatch Resort and it is 9pm. Hurricane Ian just struck.
The hotel staff first tells you they don't find your reservation, then finds it when you provide the number, only to tell you that Expedia cancelled it. They are unable to provide a proof that Expedia did cancel. Then they tell you to deal with Expedia directly and take a hike as they don't have any room available.
Then they tell you that the hotel has had some water damage, pools and elevators are out. They also tell you to try to get your money back from Expedia and book direct.
So what probably happened is that they relocated their direct bookings on the lower-level floors because of the elevator situation and cancelled the other reservations.
After a few hours, we were finally relocated by Expedia so our vacations were saved.
But Wyndham will never get my money again.
Funny thing, I tried to book a room the next day at the Seawatch and didn't have any issue.
