Good central location and nice staff but condition of the room was a bit shabby. Big crack in the wall, marks on carpet and bathroom not as clean a i would expect. I did go for the basic level room and the bed was comfortable
Pub was nice, very busy midweek. Food was delightful. I travel a lot for business and breakfasts like that are few and far between.
Room was tired and basic. Water in shower was constantly between warm and cold. Bed was like a slab of concrete.
Pretty good, rooms are bit simple but sufficient and as there's a pub there's some noise outside. But overall pleased, especially with breakfast. Biggest issue was the far car park.
Staff and main facility are good but the room is noisy, hand driers from the restaurant toilets are clearly heard in the room until late and theres a lot of noise throughout the night and early morning.
Room was adequate - nothing special but fine for a night. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast good - both choices and the food. Lack of parking a nuisance. The local multistorey is not expensive but still a hassle.
Great pub and food is superb. Service was excellent with really friendly staff. The only thing that let down the weekend was our room which is tired and could do with a refurbishment.
All in all though, a great place for a weekend getaway.
Old English Coaching Inn style hotel in the lovely town of Berkhampstead. Friendly professional staff, comfortable bed and bathroom with shower over. Full breakfast menu.
However, I donât think the hotel was worth ÂŁ143 for the night. Some of the rooms were outside, luckily it wasnât raining and there were some umbrellas by the tiny reception desk in the bar, my room was outside by a shed with a courtyard view which was no view really as it was just an entrance to 3 rooms. The hotel exterior could do with some TLC. The breakfast menu was extensive. I ordered Eggs Royal with Avacado but asked for 1 eggs as this is a large breakfast in most places. But it was the smallest egg and half a muffin the size of the egg, the smoked salmon was nearly non existent and there was a tiny spoon of avocado. It was delicious but lost on the plate so if you order this, order with the 2 eggs. The hotel has no parking but parking is available at the sister hotel the Penny Farthing 10 mins walk away. Again I was glad it was not raining. If I return to Berkhampstead I will try the sister hotel next time.
Our room was nothing.like pictures. Bath room dirty.room very shabby . Had to go outside to back of hotel then up a shabby flight of stairs & hallway to reach room . Have honestly stayed in better premier for far less money. Cooked breakfast very good but toast burnt both mornings and no choice of cereal or fruit on menu . Disappointing as we often stop for a drink here and looked forward to staying .
Great food, Amazing staff hotel it self walls need repainting in and out rooms, Room had very old cobwebs around windows .. can't fault staff or food just the grim look of hotel
