Booked this off a wim. What a great little place we have found! Broke up the journey from south to north well and was modern, clean, friendly, quiet and a really good place to stay! Will definitely be staying again next time we have to make the journey this way! Ideal location. Breakfast was really good in the morning too!

Very popular restaurant with hotel rooms. Rooms were small but well presented with comfortable beds, Coffee machine, fridge in some rooms, modern bathroom with walk in shower in all but one room. Plenty of car parking. Stayed on Sunday night. Two acts in garden provided background music that didn't interupt conversations. Plenty of outside seating for drinks or to eat. No TV in bar as this is really a restaurant with small inside bar area and lots of space outside. No lift but walk in shower makes life easier for elderly. Staff very attentive & nothing too much trouble. Good choice of breakfast items from eggs benedict, sausage/bacon sarni, to full English and vegetarian options. I would definitely stay there again.

Lovely restaurant but very busy when we arrived, so staff were rushed off their feet. Room was great. Bathroom was lovely. No air conditioning so we kept the window open. Quiet outside apart from birds waking us up at sunrise. Food in the restaurant was excellent although we had to wait for a table. There was no discount on offer for residents.

The property has been refurbished to a good standard but still could use some further work to improve the building even more It is an old building and some of the floors upstairs need some work ( just outside our room there was a dint in the floor that felt like it might go through if not looked at in the near future. ). Would also be nice if rooms on the ground floor were refurbished to allow access for those with less mobility to enjoy the hotel The staff could not do enough for us especially Chris our morning server who went out of his way to look after us and provided me with the requested additional items to my Eggs on toast.

Cannot really fault The Sutherland. The room was spotless, the bathroom spotless, the bed comfortable. I stayed 2 nights for work the room, whilst small, was more than adequate for my needs. The restaurant is fantastic. The pace of service perfect for me, I did not feel at all rushed. The food was not only presented beautifully, but was delicious. I cannot recommend the duck breast highly enough! I stay in hotels regularly with my work and The Sutherland is now on my Go To list.

This is a very popular and recently renovated hotel. The restaurant can be extremely busy, but no problem in booking as a resident. Quite an extensive menu and good range of drinks - not surprising as part of a small pub company.

Staff were all courteous and Hotel is really nice. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and the food was amazing. Prices very reasonable. My only negative was the size of our double room! It was really only big enough for a single bed and we were very cramped. Bathroom was lovely though.

Great Place, well worth the money!

Lovely hotel, really clean. Staff at reception were super helpful and even made sure we could get dinner although we checked in just after service stopped. Breakfast was delicious, freshly cooked to order. Dinner was really tasty and good prices. Would 100% recommend to anyone
