Passing through Columbus and this was a convenient and nice place to spend the night. Complimentary breakfast and even an evening taco bar was a nice touch.
We recently booked three rooms at this property as part of a group reservation. Upon arrival, we were informed that the hotel could not honor our stay and that we were being relocated to a sister property. Unfortunately, the alternate hotel was not of equal quality, and no compensation was offered for the inconvenience.
The relocated property had noticeably dirty floors and would not have been our preferred choice. Additionally, there were several issues during check-in, including an attempt to double-charge one member of our group and assigning another to a room that was already occupied.
Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing. Due to the lack of professionalism and poor handling of the situation, I do not plan to stay with this propertyâor any affiliated locationsâin the future.
Nice hotel, check in was easy and the clerk efficient and courteous. Room was comfortable but hallways were stuffy and had an occasional fowl odor. Breakfast was good but I will say one of the people serving looked miserable and not wanting to be bothered. Fitness room was a touch above average. Microwave did not work and maintenance said it was repaired buy the only function working was the fan.
Upon arrival I was told they didnât have my reservation, they said it had been cancelled.
They gave me three different reasons why they didnât see it in their computer.
However, I showed on my app and online that my reservation was active, no issues.
They did get us a room for the same price as my original reservation.
But then from there we just felt one disappointment after another.
When asking for bedding/towels, it was handed directly to me. No offer to have staff bring it up to my room.
The pool water was cold, and the pool is very small and only 3ft/4ft section.
Kids jumping in and out flooded the floor so anyone not swimming was walking through puddles of water in their tennis shoes to get to a seating area.
Tv is a jokeâŠ. You have limited channels
and nothing for the kids on tv.
We did breakfast the first day and the second morning we made our own food in the room. The breakfast area was missing waffle makers, photos online show 2 waffle makers and thatâs usually what we eat.
So we bought our own waffles and made them in the toaster in the room.
Just overall felt like we were disappointed with the amenities.
Will not recommend or stay there again.
Not worth the cost when so many other hotels in the area!
I live in Puerto Rico but Iâm from Columbus and still own a business here. We recently sold our home in Columbus so I stayed at Staybridge Suites for the last two weeks. The suite had everything I needed including a full kitchen with a full size fridge. Everything was extremely clean when I arrived and the customer service was awesome for my entire stay. The best part was how well insulated the rooms are. I was a little nervous because Iâm a light sleeper and the slightest noise usually wakes me up. I usually stay in an Airbnb because of that but I didnât have any issues whatsoever. Once I was in the room and shut the door I didnât hear any noise at all. It was also considerably cheaper than my usual Airbnb so I will definitely be staying here from now on! I usually come back to Columbus every couple of months for a couple of weeks to check on our business so Iâll be a frequent guest in the future!
No seating in kitchen, non sufficient seating in room. Our room they checked us in, not ready, NO towels, no toilet paper but the measly left from previous guests. Air conditioner screen was popped up out of unit; bathroom was sub standard, no where to put anything on a counter . Bathroom door opened directly into room, literally 2 feet from bed. Fan in bathroom was not working. priced. if you were in Marriott but hotel was not up to that standard. They had mattresses store in stairwell. husband had to climb over a king mattress to access door. only 1 room bathrooms for men and/ or women off the breakfast dining area in lobby floor.
The property had evidence of water damage and with every shower, you could see why. The tiny shower in our room leaked so heavily we had to leave towels down so the carpet didnât get wet. The shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap comes in refillable bottles, so youâre using the same bottles as all the previous guests. The breakfast is similar, nothing is pre-packaged/portioned individually other than the butter jam and syrup. Everything else is out and on an open buffet display. Only the hot food had covers. I did like the rotating breakfast options from day to day. The dressers in the rooms had drawers that rolled open at random. The bedroom door design was flawed and the door was very hard to close/lock. Had asked for a extra linens prior to check in as the reservation was for three adults and no linens for the pull-out were provided until a call post check in which took over an hour to receive after a second call was placed. The parking lot is very small and was always almost completely full.
