Events were as follows:
9/12 (Day before trip) - Phone call from RPG - was informed that my reservation was changing to the S 15th Street location due to the toilet malfunctioning at the 728 Market Street location. I had no problem with this as it was closer to the convention center.
9/13 - I land in Philadelphia approx. 7PM. Arrive at 15th Street location at 8PM. Codes supplied by RPG do not work on the door. Tried texting and calling multiple numbers available on the website, and the folks I had talked to previously. No response whatsoever. The emergency number listed was the number of the guy (Henry) I had talked to before. Went straight to voicemail when called. Was unable to secure lodging at other hotels due to a convention in town that week. I tried at least 15 other hotels in the area. I spent the night out in Philadelphia.
9/14 - 3AM I get a text from RPG supplying me with another code for the door to the 15th Street location. I make my way over there, arriving at 5:30AM. The new code does not work. I am supplied another code which finally works.
Ridiculous that there is no real emergency number and I was unable to get in contact with anyone at all. Even more ridiculous that I was initially supplied with multiple codes for one door. Can't be that hard to keep track of what code is for what door.
1. This is not a hotel, but a series of condos/apartments in the city.
2. This property advertises one rate, and charges high extra fees, which are hidden and not clearly advertised.
3. The property manager doesn't communicate via email but via text and was increasingly agitated when discussing issues.
4. We didn't receive notification about how to check into this property until a few hours before check in.
5. The property manager claimed there was a broken pipe and offered to send us across the city to a different property. The definition of bait and switch.
Expedia was NO HELP in helping us navigate this shady property.
This property is not a hotel - it is a well worn apartment and is far from 5 stars, more like 2 stars. The main bedroom has a several inch sag in the bed, mismatched linens, and power and cable cords laying across the floor. Fortunately we had no need for the other rooms, but they followed the same pattern. We expressed our disappointment with the owner who promised a $150 credit for the night, but not surprisingly did not follow through.
